讲座提纲 Lecture outline
If the "Southeast Asia" as a simple geographical concept, I believe that everyone will be familiar with, because this region is generally close to the equator, the sunshine beach is a lot of people's holiday destination. If "Southeast Asia" is expanded into a concept of culture and art, the interpretation of it will be much more complicated. Especially in recent years, the international art market has begun to favor this region, with frequent activities such as galleries, auctions, art fairs, international artist in residence, international exhibitions and exchanges, powerful economic forces are constantly boosting contemporary art in Southeast Asia, and trying to bring them into the context of the global art market at the fastest speed. Similar to China 30 years ago, the globalized contemporary art rushed towards artists like a new wave, awakening and stunning many people. Put yourself out of the wave and be a more sober observer, hoping to discover, capture and present the scene after the wave, and this was no exception. We reintroduce the idealized curatorial state and methods, and we want those artists and works that are related to the "roots" of Southeast Asia. The lecturer explore the confrontation and symbiosis between globalization and localization under the theme of Trans-Southeast Asia with the method of walking curation.
