In a funny video from last month, a Chinese tourist was kept standing on the edge of a bungee jump in New Zealand for nearly 2 minutes because she didn’t understand the English word “JUMP!”

In the video, the instructor can be heard repeatedly counting down and asking the woman to jump off the bridge already. 

Instead, she simply stays standing where she is with her arms wide open, screaming Aaaaaaaaa, jiayou, jiayou, jiayou........

Language barriers are the most common communication barriers which cause misunderstandings and misinterpretations between people. 

Most of the people in the world do not speak English or, even if they use, it is their second or third language.
