Katerina's Farewell Speech（Part A）

我的第二任期结束后，作为对这一阶段的总结，我做了一个farewell speech，本来准备了九分多钟的演讲实际上进行了二十多分钟。

整个演讲分为四个部分，本篇为第一和第二部分。

Hey, I’m Katerina. (Laugh)

(Hey, Katerina! How are you? I love you!)

I have struggled for a week, and I decided to give my farewell speech in English. I never did that before, it’s a big challenge to me. I never gave a farewell speech in English to the English native speakers, and some of you are even English teachers.

My accent still has some problems, but I'll try it. It’s also a little weird that I give my farewell speech here, because for the last nine months, I went to my student’s farewell dinner and listened to their farewell speechs. Yep, today is my farewell dinner. For every other person’s farewell party, I’ll be very happy, but for mine, I’m a little sad. Thank you for you coming for me. 

The first time I came to CLI was March 2015, and then I became a Chinese teacher in July 2016 after I worked as a volunteer Chinese teacher in Confucius Institute of Malang State University Indonesia and passed the examination for Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages by Confucius Institute Headquarters. (Applause) I drank two bottles of beers. (She needs one more)

Even though I have one year experience of teaching, I still think that CLI is a new world to me. Every morning I open the gate and I feel I have the magic (It's okay, Robbie is not here)(Robbie is our boss, and I told them the story of first time I met Robbie and wrote his name wrong), I can communicate and exchange the opinions with different country’s persons (You are happy right there.Keep going,come on!).

My very first student was Jeremy, a 16-year-old guy from Washington D.C, and my second one was Alshaan, 19 years old from Canada (who is him?AK 97?) Right, AK 97(the handsome boy, right?),he was my second student (Katerina,why this guy just keep silent). Before their leaving, they invited me to Muse. I’m a local person, but I never been to any bars or pubs in Guilin before I came to CLI (that night club! before you came to CLI, so CLI changed you a lot). But for that time, I declined. Not a day goes by that I’m not regret for that, not for Muse, but for probably we don’t have any chance to meet in the future(It won’t happen to us). Since then, I more and more cherished the time I spent with my students.

I made every student a particular document in my computer, including the pictures of the characters they wrote, the grammars they made, my teaching dairy,I continued adjusting my teaching methods, and farewell speech video. I went to my every signal student farewell dinner, and I wrote my teaching dairy everyday.

我曾经和Krista谈过很多不同的话题，在她身上我找到了被理解的感觉。世界那么大，我一刻也不想停下探索的脚步。
