对于每一位肯为我花时间的人,我都深深感恩。

本篇是告别演讲的第三和第四部分。

I will go to South Africa next Monday to begin my new adventure (applause). In traditional Chinese opinion, I’m not a good girl. A girl of my age should settle down, find a job, find someone to marry, and raise up a child, right? (Yep...We are waiting for you)(laugh) Both of my friends did better than me in this way(f**k them). I remember Dayong once said,"CLI is not the real China". The person who makes the same choices as me is the minority, and it’s very common for me to be asked,“where is your boyfriend” and  “when will you get married”. And you know Chinese consider their families to play a very important role in their lives, a family's harmony, children's respect for their parents, is a very important standard to value a person’s personality. For thousands of years, Chinese children just obeyed their parents and never asked what they as individuals want. So it’s time to change, IT’S TIME TO CHANGE. I’m not encouraging everyone to make the same decisions as me, going abroad and leaving their parents. I just want to remind every decision you make should follow your heart. When people ask you,“why are you doing this? why are you doing that?”, the answer should be, “I do it for me, not because of my age, not because of my family, not because of my social background (I’m so proud of you. This is beautiful ). Before I made this decision, I had an argument, I quarreled? Is that word?(Yep) with my parents, because I’m the only child in my family and I’m a girl. I know they worry about me. But the most important thing is follow your heart, right?

I would like to end my speech with a Chinese poem. My first name is Shiqin, which means poem and piano (music instrument?) At five years old I began to learn to play the piano, so Qin means music instrument, but for me that means piano. I would like to end my speech with the last poem of three hundreds poems of Tang dynasty, Tangshi Sanbai Shou:

劝君莫惜金缕衣,劝君惜取少年时。

花开堪折直须折,莫待无花空折枝。

Different people have different understandings, and my understanding is that saving time and enjoy your life is most important.

At first time, I didn’t think I needed a farewell party, because I’m nobody, I should leave silently just like I came here silently. It was Liz who insisted on giving me  this farewell party (applause). Thank you for Liz (laugh) after the class, I’m a shy girl, so don’t laugh at me (you are so far away from being shy). Thank you to Liz for helping me to organize this party. Thank you to Nikki for being my best friend for the last one and half years, and for always taking care of me, whether in Indonesia or China. Thank you for Staci, the 26-year-old dancing queen, while I’m the 62 years old grandma who can not stop speaking, you are the teenager and I’m the old woman, and remember this one is “liaotian”, and this one is “tiaowu”, I ‘ll ask Gina next time. Thank you Krista, who is in Ireland. She checked everything for me after she realized I knew nothing about South Africa, even including the most 10 dangerous animals there, she is so worried about me. Thank you Jordan, he is also a teacher in university. We often discussed the grammar in our classes. Thank you to Selma, though she is not here, either. She is a cute girl and always wants to buy cute notebooks, always likes sending the cute postcards, and always tells me the Ma Dawei and Ding Libo’s love story. Thank you for all of CLI’s teachers and staffs, Mingming, Ivory, Young, Maddy, Alice, Lily, Febie, Kitty, Jingjing, Tristan, Gina, Katherine, Flavia and Mengmeng, I don’t konw his English name. Thank you for all you coming for me (enjoy!) Thank you! Hope you enjoy the party, Ganbei!

在大家的帮助下,我也变成那个天不怕地不怕、既可以保护自己也可以保护身边人的人了。

谢谢你们。
