哲学家黑塞曾说：“对每个人而言，真正的职责只有一个：找到自我。然后在心中坚守一生，全心全意，永不停息。”你不必随波逐流，行色匆匆地赶往你从未深思过的远方；你也不必仰望他人，拘泥于他人的成就之中。你只需跟随你的内心，去探索你的道路，成为自己想要成为的人。
2023年5月10日下午，成都实外新都五龙山学校初一年级英语演讲角（Speakers’ Corner）在七彩广场（Show Square）如期举行。本期主题为Should we follow others? 初2022级14位同学参加了本次演讲活动。张盛副校长和代东风副校长出席了本次活动，并在和孩子们的精彩互动中提供了宝贵的建议。现在让我们一同见证孩子们的精彩表现吧！

Most people act emotionally without thinking wisely. If you always follow others because they’re greater than you in number, then sooner or later you’ll discover that you’re taking emotional decisions you might regret later.
大多数人没有明智地思考就感情行事。如果你总是跟随别人，就因为他们的数量比你多，那么你迟早会发现你正在做出可能会令你后悔的冲动决定。
初一1班 舒子涵
Should we follow others? It depends. If others have better suggestions, it would be better to accept them. But if not, why should we? In a word, don’t follow others blindly.
我们要亦步亦趋吗？这取决于具体的情况。如果别人有更好的建议，我们最好是接受这些建议。但是反之，那就别了。总之，不要盲从。
初一2班 孙怡诺
Have you heard that the truth is always in the hands of a few people? For the first time, I regret that I followed the others blindly instead of believing myself.
你听说过真理往往掌握在少数人手中吗？这是我第一次后悔盲从了别人而不是坚持自己。
初一2班 陈慕曦
Sometimes，other people’s advice may be good, but it doesn’t suit us. So we still need to find our own way according to our own situations.
有时候别人的建议也许很好，但却不适合我们，所以我们仍需根据自身情况找到适合自己的方式。
初一2班 崔芮溪
Confucius said “When I walk along with two others, they may serve me as my teachers. ”So we can select people’s good qualities and follow them.
孔子说：“三人行必有我师焉。” 所以我们可以选择人们的优点去遵循。
初一3班 朱欣悦
Second, it can be dangerous to follow others. Peer pressure means as teenagers, sometimes we follow others just to fit in groups. What if your friends ask you to do something really bad, like smoking? Isn’t it dangerous to follow others in this case?
其次，随波逐流也可能是危险的。同辈压力意味着作为青少年，我们有时会为了融入而从众。但如果你的朋友让你做的是非常糟糕的事怎么办呢？比如吸烟。在这种情况下，随波逐流难道不是一件危险的事吗？
初一3班 杨逸童
Sometimes we should follow others such as parents and teachers. Their reasonable advice can help us make progress. But if we are right, we need to stand up for our own opinions. To sum up, we should not follow others blindly, but if others’ behaviors are better, we can learn from them.
有时我们应该跟随其他人，如父母和老师。他们的合理建议可以帮助我们取得进步。但是，如果我们是对的，我们需要坚持自己的观点。综上所述，我们不应该盲目跟随别人，但如果别人的行为更好，我们可以向他们学习。
初一4班 乔姿羽
Each student has his advantages. We should learn from them. In this way, we can be better.
每一个学生都有他自己的优点，我们应该从别人身上学习。这样，我们就可以变得更好。
初一5班 熊小立
Self-ego is one of the most important parts in our whole life. One of the most interesting things in our life is finding out who we are and whom we want to be.
自我是我们个体的重要组成部分之一，找寻自我，了解到自己要成为什么样的人也是人生一大乐事。
初一5班 江兰君
Being oneself is more valuable than changing oneself. But if one day I am changing myself for something, it must because I want to do it, not for anyone.
比起改变自己，坚持自我更有意义。但如果有一天我改变了什么，那一定是因为我自己想这样做，而不是因为其他人。
初一6班 吴昱辰
Second，others’ ideas or thoughts are not always right. We should try our best to tell white and black. Sometimes, some classmates are talking in class, can we follow them? Of course not.
其次，别人的想法也不一定全是对的，我们要有分辨是非的能力。比如说同学在课堂说话，我们能效仿吗？答案当然是否定的。
初一6班 郑轩皓
From these stories，I think we should tell black and white before we follow others. Don't follow easily. Try to keep a clear mind.
从这些故事中，我们可以明白当我们追随别人之前需要分清是非黑白，不要人云亦云。随时保持一颗清晰的头脑。
少年班 张瀚月
We can believe in ourselves because we can do everything better. No need to follow others every time. Everyone is unique in the world.
我们能相信自己因为我们能把每件事做得更好。不需要每次都听从他人，跟从他人。我们每个人都是世界上独一无二的存在。
少年班 李茂正
From Dongshi and Xishi’s story, we can know that Xishi is natural and beautiful ,but Dongshi is not when she followed Dongshi all the time. So, my dear friends, you are the best one. Be yourself and don’t follow others!
从东施和西施的故事里，我们能明白，西施的动作自然又美丽，而东施模仿的时候却不是。所以，我亲爱的朋友们，你足够好！做你自己！不要完全跟随别人！
