Introduction to Committee:
In the mid-1600s, the Mughal Empire was at the height of its prosperity and success. However, while on the surface these flourishing times appear to continue, there are several internal and external threats that are quickly approaching to hinder the Mughal Empire and its dominance in Southern Asia.
The primary external threat appears to be the constant political battle the Mughal Empire engages in with the major neighboring Islamic empires, namely, theSafavid Persian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the and the Uzbek Empire.Traders from Western Europe, particularly from Great Britain, have established trading companies in India and have expanded these companies over the past few decades.
While external pressures from fellow empires and nations in Eurasia are threatening the strength of the empire, the empire also has several internal conflicts of its own. The most notable appears to be the religious and ethnic tensions that are emerging and gaining traction within the empire.
