The municipal regulation on waste management took effect on July 1.
Garbage sorting is a new fashion and Shanghai should make sure garbage management is done.
In July, the weight of recyclables hit 4,400 tons per day in Shanghai, five times higher than the end of last year.
So we have the red bin for hazardous waste, blue for your recyclables, brown for household (kitchen waste) and black for anything that doesn't fit into those three categories.
More than 33 percent of Shanghai's registered residents are aged over 60. So the government has come up with unique solutions to make sure that its urban management satisfies the residents of different ages.
As Chinese society ages, it is our common wish that elderly people lead a happy, healthy and long life.
A first-class city must have first-class management, and efforts should be made to ensure scientific, precise and intelligent urban management.
