火箭队因“港独”言论惹众怒！NBA回应：莫雷伤害了中国球迷的感情
我无意让自己的推文对火箭的球迷和我在中国的朋友造成任何冒犯。我只是就一个复杂事件根据一种解读发表自己的一个想法。自那条推文以来，我获得了很多机会来聆听和思考其他观点。
我一直很感谢中国球迷和赞助商提供的大力支持，我希望那些对此感到不安的人知道，冒犯或误解他们不是我的意图。我的推文是我自己的，绝不代表火箭或NBA。
7日，NBA官方微博也就莫雷不当言论事件进行了回应：
We recognize that the views expressed by Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey have deeply offended many of our friends and fans in China, which is regrettable. While Daryl has made it clear that his tweet does not represent the Rockets or the NBA, the values of the league support individuals' educating themselves and sharing their views on matters important to them. We have great respect for the history and culture of China and hope that sports and the NBA can be used as a unifying force to bridge cultural divides and bring people together.
不久后莫雷的推特账号删除了相关内容。

China's official basketball association says it has decided to suspend exchanges and cooperation with the Houston Rockets following a tweet by the team's general manager in support of the so-called pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong.
The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), chaired by Yao Ming, said Sunday on its Weibo account that Daryl Morey had made "improper remarks regarding Hong Kong" to which it expressed its "strong opposition."
6日，浦发银行信用卡中心、李宁品牌、腾讯体育、嘉银金科等与火箭队有合作关系的企业纷纷发声：暂停或中止合作！
浦发银行信用卡中心发表声明，表示强烈抗议及反对，并表示已暂停相关市场活动和宣传，并继续敦促休斯顿火箭队对此事件展开彻查并给予合理回复。
Sponsor Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPD Bank) Credit Card Center said on Sunday it has suspended related marketing activities and publicity.

在浦发银行之后，李宁品牌也发布声明，称已中止与休斯顿火箭队相关合作，并将持续敦促火箭队针对该事件给予明确答复。
“We want to express our indignation and strong condemnation,” read a statement from sportswear brand Li-Ning, published on Weibo platform. “We have already stopped our cooperation with the Houston Rockets, and continue to urge them to give a clear answer on this matter.”

We are deeply shocked by the erroneous comments on Hong Kong made by Mr. Daryl Morey, general manager of the Houston Rockets. We have lodged representations and expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Houston Rockets, and urged the latter to correct the error and take immediate concrete measures to eliminate the adverse impact.
我们对火箭队总经理莫雷日前发表错误涉港言论表示震惊和强烈不满，已经向火箭队提出严正交涉要求该队作出澄清，立即纠正错误，并采取切实措施，消除恶劣影响。

China Central Television's sports channel also announced that it has decided to suspend cooperation and exchanges with Houston Rockets including broadcasting.
