You And Me, From One World

Currently, CCNU has overall 1037 international students with 745 of them staying abroad. On March 25, President Hao Fanghua and Vice President Peng Shuangjie had an online meeting with 9 representatives of them, extending sincere concerns to them.

Mathematics student Barry established himself as a role model in treating the virus outbreak. He expressed his deep love for Wuhan, boosted people’s confidence in winning this battle, and showed his gratitude to CCNU’s supplies and care.


Lugazo Abubakar, leader of Yang Leifeng and an Education major, always kept his teammates informed of the latest news during the quarantine. He played an active role in helping teachers distribute supplies and serving as a bridge between teachers and students.


China is my second home and I am safe in CCNU. Thanks will go to all CCNUers, medical workers and volunteers!”

The Long Way Home


Doci Silva is about to get her PhD degree this June. Unfortunately, she had a bad cold at the very beginning and was quarantined respectively in three countries on her way home. Despite all that happened to her, she said she would never change her love for China. 


Turdo Laura majoring in Chinese, spent 20 days going back home. She couldn’t wait to return to Wuhan and she hoped that everything could go back on track soon.


Undergraduate Hwang Junho from Korea said that it was touching to see China and Korea help each other in adversity.

Unforgettable Winter Vacation


Tang Cong Sau has been in self-quarantine during the lockdown. “Although I am not on campus, teachers still care about me in many ways. I study and read a lot at home and have published an article about pandemic prevention on the Wechat account of our school.” said Sau.


Sadi Makangila Patrick is the former leader of the CCNU International Students' Volunteer Team. He and his mother spent the Spring Festival in Wuhan where they witnessed the Chinese spirit of unity and solidary during the outbreak of COVID-19. “I am lucky to study in China and this is the most unforgettable experience of my life. Therefore, I will always remember that Chinese spirit, build myself accordingly, to be always brave and strong." said Patrick.

Cured students Abunamous Mohammed and Karacheva Nadezhda shared their experiences and expressed thanks to China.
Abunamous Mohammed is from the School of Sociology. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 in Guangzhou and is now fully recovered. “Everyone was very friendly. It was Chinese medical staff who saved my life”, said Abunamous. 
Karacheva Nadezhda is a Russian PhD from the School of Politics and International Studies. When she found herself having close contact with victims, she immediately decided to get tested and self-quarantine at CCNU. She turned down the suggestion to return home and said that here in Wuhan, she had her teachers and friends, and she had got the best medical treatment.

President Hao said that although the students felt terrified and insecure at first, they still remained strong and optimistic. She also thanked all for supporting China and CCNU, saying our prevention cannot manage to work without their support.


Vice President Peng said that CCNU would carry out the work of epidemic prevention and control, giving students more care and concern. “We are all in this together”, he added.
