Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa. It borders Guinea to the northeast, Liberia to the southeast, and Atlantic Ocean to the west. Its capital city is Freetown.

塞拉利昂是西非的国家。东北与几内亚接壤，东南接利比里亚，西滨大西洋。它的首都是弗里敦。

Language 语言

The official language of Sierra Leone is English. Other languages used in Sierra Leone are Krio, Mende, Temne, and LImba.

塞拉利昂的官方语言是英语。其它语言包括克里奥、门德、泰姆和林巴。

National Flag 国旗

The national flag of Sierra Leone is a tricolor flag consisting of three horizontal green, white, and blue stripes. Green symbolizes agricultural and natural resources, white represents unity and justice, while blue is symbolic of Freetown's harbor which is usually depicted as a symbol of hope.

塞拉利昂国旗由绿色，白色和蓝色三色条纹组成的。绿色代表农业和自然资源，白色代表着团结和正义，蓝色代表着弗里敦港，蓝色代表着弗里敦港在这里是希望的象征。

National Anthem 国歌

The national anthem of Sierra Leone is High We Exalt Thee, Realm of the Free.

The currency used in Sierra Leone is Leone.

Sierra Leone is one of the top diamonds producing countries in the world. The Star of Sierra Leone, the world's 4^th largest Diamond was discovered in Sierra Leone in 1972. Gold is also available in abundance in this country. Other mineral resources are Titanium, Bauxite, Iron ore, Chromite, and Rutile.

塞拉利昂是世界上最大的钻石生产国之一。世界第四大钻石塞拉利昂之星于1972年在塞拉利昂发现。这个国家黄金也很丰富。其他矿产资源有钛、铝土矿、铁矿石、铬铁矿和金红石。

Population 人口

As of 2019 estimates, the population of Sierra Leone is about 7.81 million.

Freetown 弗里敦（自由城）

In 1787, the British brought freed slaves from the United States, Nova Scotia, and Great Britain to Sierra Leone to settle in what they called the "Province of Freedom." Other groups of freed slaves joined as well in the region. Freetown now is the capital city of Sierra Leone, The Cotton Tree, the Slave Gate, Sierra Leone Museum are some of the attractions in this city.

Sierra Leone National Museum

The national museum is at the center of Freetown near the city's famous Cotton Tree. It has an important collection of Sierra Leonean artefacts and art works. E.g. Bai Bureh's drum, clothes and sword.

National Railway Museum 国家铁路博物馆

This museum has a collection of restored locomotives, including one commissioned for the Queen of England in 1961. It has a display of model trains and photos of the Sierra Leone railway.

Banana Island 香蕉岛

This is a group of islands where you can experience amazing unspoiled beaches, whale watching, water sports, scuba diving, beach sports, natural surroundings etc.

Mount Bintumani 宾图马尼山

This is the highest peak in Sierra Leone, it is in the Loma Mountains and is home to animals such as Pygmy hippopotamus, dwarf crocodiles, Rufous fishing owls etc.

宾图马尼山是塞拉利昂的最高峰，位于洛马山脉，是矮河马、侏儒鳄鱼、红褐色猫头鹰等动物的家园。

Cotton Tree 棉花树

This is a historic symbol of Freetown. The tree is very huge and is near the Supreme Court building and the National Museum. It is believed that this is where Nova Scotian settlers prayed more than two hundred years ago.

Tiwai Island 提威岛

This is a wildlife sanctuary and tourist site run by an NGO, it is 12 square kilometers and located on the Moa river in the Southern Province.

Mamunta Mayosso Wildlife Sanctuary

This is a game reserve in Tonkolili district, Northern Province. It is designated to protect the threatened Dwarf Crocodiles and it is home to 252 bird species.

Bo Stadium 博体育场

This is a newly built multi-purpose stadium in Bo. It has an all seated capacity of 25,000 people making it the second largest stadium in Sierra Leone.

Gola National park 戈拉国家公园

Gola National park combines Gola North Forest Reserve, Gola East Forest Reserve and Gola West Forest Reserve. It covers 71,070 hectares, as home to more than 330 species of birds, 14 of which are threatened, over 650 species of butterflies, 49 species of mammals.

戈拉国家公园由戈拉北部森林保护区、戈拉东部森林保护区和戈拉西部森林保护区组成。它占地71070公顷，拥有330多种鸟类-其中14种受灭绝威胁，650多种蝴蝶，49种哺乳动物。
