Over the past few weeks, some news about foreigners getting automatic visa extension upon expiry during the epidemic period has been widely shared. But wait a minute, does it cover all the visas issued to foreigners in China? The simple answer to this question is that it is not necessarily.
近期，外国人社群被一条消息炸开了锅：在华外国人签证到期，可自动顺延两个月。但真的是所有外国人的签证都可以自动顺延吗？其实不是 。
According to the State Immigration Administration, this only applies to foreigners who hold a valid visa (the visa on the passport page),but for those who hold a visa-free document, they need to make an appointment online and head over to the Shenzhen Exit-entry PSB with the supporting documents for processing.
根据国家移民管理局出台的条例，只有持有效签证入境的外国人可自动顺延（护照上有签证页的），如持免签入境的护照则不行，要在护照到期的前10天在深圳公安局出入境官网预约，然后带着相关资料去线下办理。
Nevertheless, if one encounters any problems renewing their passport during the epidemic, which further complicates the process of applying for a new visa or residence permit, the Exit-entry PSB will, in accordance with the law and the severity of the case, reduce or exempt the penalty of overstaying. Foreigners who urgently need to process their documents can start their applications by calling the hotline of Shenzhen Exit-entry PSB：+0755 84465490.
但是对因疫情防期间，护照到期后难以按时出境且无法及时办理签证、居留证件延期手续的，公安出入境管理部门可依法依规视情节严重性从轻、减免或免予逾期居留处罚。若需要加急办理的护照业务的外国人可通过拨打深圳出入境管理局电话 +0755 84465490 申请。

5. Appointment time and address - bring the relevant document for processing 预约时间和地址-携带相关资料线下办理
Shenzhen Exit-entry PSB is back to work: Monday to Friday, morning hours 9:00 - 12:00, afternoon hours 14:00-17:00.
深圳市公安局出入境已开始正常上班：周一至周五上午9：00-12：00,下午14：00-17：00
Note: One individual can only book an appointment using their citizen ID or Passport once a day. When the appointment is confirmed and the individual didn't bring their citizen ID or other relevant documents accordingly, the appointment will be regarded as invalid. If the individual could not arrive on time, they should cancel the appointment half a working day before that, otherwise, it will be invalidated.
值得注意的是，申请人的护照等身份证件当天只能预约一次。成功预约后，如果按照预定时间到选定的办证大厅办理相关业务时，因未带齐身份证件等办证相关申请材料的，可视为无效预约。如未能在预约时间段内前往办理的，须至少提前半个工作日，在网站预约申请页面进行撤销预约，否则视为失约。
