New Job Scam on WeChat

This is one of the messages advertising the job.

Now there are many legitimate jobs like this, and pays a lot more than that, but one of the person who contacted this particular offer sent these screenshots later.

Notice that he was scammed only 100 RMB, which according to the scammer, it was a fee for vouching him, doh~

Important: If you don't know the person, or can't verify their legitimacy, don't pay any money before being assured and verify that you got the job. 

Chat with a Bitcoin Investor

A few days ago after we made posts about bitcoin investors scam,     someone decided to take a move of actually adding and chatting with one of the bitcoin Investor, here is his story.

Hi Mama Africa, thank you so much for updating us with news and knowledge everyday. I decided to add one of the bitcoin investors and share my story with others. Unfortunately I forgot to screeshot the chats before I deleted him, but anyway, I hope this will help someone.

I added him and asked about investment, he asked me how much do I want to invest because there is a minimum amount.

And so, I asked him, what is the minimum amount, he didn't say, he just kept asking me how much I want to invest, I told him 1000 us$, he said good, then he told me he will send me a QR code to send him the money.

Here is where it started getting weird, why does he want to send me the QR code while I could've just send him the money directly?

About 5 minutes later, he sent me a QR code, which is not his wechat,  I scanned and this happened.

I sent him the screenshot, and he said wait, around 15 minutes later he sent another QR code from another wechat user. He asked me to send him a screenshot as soon as I have paid.

Now what you are seeing, is not a real payment, it is a photoshop, because by this time I had convinced myself that he is not legit. First of all, why not use his own wechat to transfer the money?

Second, who are those guys collecting money for him? 

Third, why did he spend long time to provide me with their payment QR code?

Fourth, why was the first QR code account compromised?

Fifth, He didn't even ask for my credentials or anything about me, apart from how much I want to invest and started to insist that I make a transfer to him.

I could go on, and on but five is enough.

So I asked my friend to do some tricks on photoshop to make it look as if I had made the payment and then I sent him the above photo. I told him "I can't transfer US$ that night, so my friend helped me send the 1000 RMB first, I will more when I have exchanged the us$ to RMB." He replied "OK!"

The next day he asked whether I have changed the money, I said yes.

He told me to send the money and send him the screenshot. 

I asked him how is my 1000 yuan doing? He said, very good.😅

I deleted him right away, and that is when I found out that I forgot to take the screenshots.

Note:We didn't share the id's and names of the people involved because it is of no use, these people are organized and they change their wechat everyday. You don't need to know who, but you need to know how, in order to protect yourself. Note that, being old school sometimes helps. Be careful out there!
