Blind dates are common in China and it usually is because parents are longing to see their children build a family and most importantly, they can get to have a grandchild to continue their family line. Mr. Liu (I will just refer to him as Liu), 29, who is from Zhejiang Province, is single and because of his work requirements, he don't have enough time to find a girlfriend. His mother helped him arrange a few blind dates through a matchmaker and he has just gotten an unforgettable experience on his last date. After agreeing that he'll pay expenses for the first date, his date brought with her 23 relatives and friends, occupying two private rooms and four dinner tables in a restaurant.
The worst is, his date didn't tell Liu in advance that she will be bringing that many people. According to her, she invited her friends to keep them company, but someone said the man is rich, and so they tried to test his generosity by eating and taking in as much as they can.
When dinner was finished and they were about to leave, Liu went to the counter to pay the bill, after seeing the amount of 19,800 RMB, he immediately disappeared (I imagine he went to the bathroom) and at first, turned off his mobile phone. The woman and her invitees were left with a big surprise. A few moments later she was able to contact Liu and they negotiated, the woman said that she was willing to go dutch with him, but Liu only accepted to pay 4,398 yuan for two tables that were assigned in a room he booked, the rest was to be paid by the woman and those who she invited.
