Man Arrested for Spreading Rumor About Foreign Teacher

The Press Office of Guangzhou Municipal PSB announced yesterday that news reports about a foreign female teacher in Guangzhou who molested several students while giving private lessons is a rumor.
When police became aware of this news story, they started an investigation and on February 24, they arrested a man surnamed Ma (male, 33 years old, from Heilongjiang). Ma confessed that he deliberately fabricated and published this story in order to get more article hits and profit from it.
Ma has been placed under a 10 days administrative detention in accordance with law.
