Provinces Opens a Green Channel to Attract Overseas Talents

The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology (refered as the department in this article) have announced plans and measures to attract overseas talents to the province.
The department will work with other relevant authorities to fulfill the following three aspects:
First of all, the province will open up the green channel for overseas high-end scientific and technological talents who would like to work in Jiangsu.
The department will facilitate visa application for foreign talents, their spouses and minor children. It also announced that it will provide them with personal assistance such as arranging for nucleic acid testing and securing air tickets.
The second aspect is in improving the balance of supply and demand for overseas talents. The department will build more convenient online and offline platforms to release latest recruitment policies and vacancies information to overseas talents.
In the view of the pandemic, the department also urges employers to adopt online recruitments and the use of video interviews, as well as supporting overseas high-end scientific and technological talents to carry out project tasks remotely.
Finally, the department also aims to strengthen services and guarantees to high-end scientific and technological talents. For example it will give them humanistic care and life services.
For those who are already working in Jiangsu, the department will improve the innovation and development space for them; and provide assistance in daily life aspects such as helping their children solve problems encountered in school enrollment.
Fujian Province
On July 3, a ceremony for the opening of Xiamen Service Center for Foreign Professionals, Guanren Community Branch and “Welcome to Xiamen: Guide for Expats” press conference was held at Guanren International Community in Xiamen, Fujian province.
“The center is the first of its kind in the city. It will provide foreign professionals in Xiamen with language training, cultural communication, and other life services, to enhance their sense of belonging, happiness and contentment,” said Liu Yuangang, from Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology.
The expats guide booklet explains in details what foreign talents need to know when or before they arrive in Xiamen.
It provides information about visa, work, start-up, medical services, education, food, leisure and entertainment in Xiamen. It is designed to help expats who work, study and live in Xiamen to better adapt to and enjoy their life there.
