Why NZ cancelled Pakistan Cricket Series?

Despite the loud criticisms made by the Pakistani authorities & Cricket lovers including globally sports community the New Zealand government still believes that they took a right move for its cricket team's decision to abandon the Cricket Series tour in Pakistan at the last very minute.
After receiving intelligence on security threats alerts notifications for the NewZealand cricket team which was in Pakistan from several days, called to cancel the tour a few minutes before the first one day international series cricket match in Rawalpindi on Friday night.
Cricket Team of NZ cancelled the series with unilateral decision and left Pakistan.
There were many conspiracies and speculations on why did NZ cancel the series in Pakistan?
NZ herald published an article in which they claimed that according to foreign media reports the intelligence of threat alert minutes before the match came from Five Eyes, an intelligence alliance of New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States and United Kingdom.
However; NZ officials did not share any threat alert notification or information with Government of Pakistan.
Pakistan emphasis and gives full confidence on no threat to NZ cricket team in Pakistan or to cricket but NZ’s Prime Minister and its team believes that threat was credible and action needed to be taken.
The decision left the Pakistan government and cricket community in shock.
