Guangdong officially launched digital certificate of residence on June 1, making it convenient for residents to apply for and present it when required through "粤省事" apps. It can completely replace the physical residence certificate.
The system was created to better safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of migrant workers to enjoy basic public services and facilitate their application for a certificate of residence in Guangdong Province.
Since the launch on June 1, the province has realized swift application, issuance and use of the certificate in the whole province, except Shenzhen.
For those who can not use phones, they will still be able to continue using a paper/physical certificate.
Q: What is the digital certificate of residence of Guangdong Province?
The Guangdong digital certificate of residence is an electronic document issued and generated by Guangdong public security organs. It relies on the digital certificate service system of the provincial government and is in accordance with relevant national regulations on digital certificate management for migrant personnel who apply for Guangdong residence permit.
Residents can apply for and use the digital certificate by logging into apps such as "粤省事", "粤居码","粤治安", etc.
The digital certificate of residence of Guangdong Province contains informations such as:
-Basic information of the holder, including name, gender, nationality, citizen ID number, photo, registered residence location, current residence address and term of validity;
-The holders residence in Guangdong code or "粤居码".
