For international students, working a part-time job while studying abroad is essential. You can pay for your studies, maintain your living expenses, and get work experience in China’s employment market by working part-time.

Your ability to communicate in Chinese will improve, and you’ll gain professional experience and a greater understanding of Chinese culture and way of life. Even if working part-time while studying abroad is difficult, it will help you become a responsible and effective professional.

How Pakistani Students can Take Permission to Work Part Time in China


Students with Chinese student visas (X1 visas) had to ask their host Chinese university and China's immigration service for permission to work part-time. The steps to request authorization for part-time employment are as follows:

Types of Part Time Jobs in China for International Students


-Teaching English

In China, finding a job as an English teacher is simple. Although it is not necessary for an English language instructor to be a native speaker, they must be proficient in the language and have a firm grasp of grammar. 

The pay for teachers varies significantly depending on the city in China where they are employed, however they typically make between 100 and 200 RMB per hour. As your fellow Chinese students may hire you to assist them in learning English, you can discover English teaching job advertisements in newspapers, online, and on the notice board at your campus. 

-Translator
In China, a translator can make $28 per hour. -Free Lancing
Online platforms have provided talented and competent people with a platform to approach businesses, showcase their talent, and receive commensurate pay per gig. Websites like Fiver, People per hour, and up Work act as intermediaries between businesses and employees. 

You can make $25 per hour working from home if you have skills in web design, web development, content writing, proposal writing, and social media management. By working on projects, you can enhance your skills and develop your professional reputation.

-Hotel/Café and restaurant Attendants
In China, waiters at hotels and restaurants might make $9 to $10 per hour. There is no need for prior experience because the job is straightforward. The working hours might be flexible to fit your schedule, and you’ll also improve your Chinese language skills, which are in great demand on the Chinese job market for your future profession.

-Legal Assistant
A legal assistant’s duties include typing and handling paperwork, which includes proofreading legal papers, writing legal nature contracts, completing clerical work, handling summonses and complaints, and creating normal employer correspondence. 

The candidates with any priestly or sectarian expertise will be given preference, and those with law degrees are the top candidates for this position. Depending on your experience, this job will pay you $10 to $20 USD per hour.

-Graphic Designing
If you are skilled, your efforts will never be in vain. In China, there is a great demand for graphic design expertise. The criterion is your ability to do graphic designing as required by businesses, regardless of whether you have a diploma in graphic design or learned it from YouTube or other sources. In China, you may work as a graphic designer and get $51 USD every gig or hour.
