The Ritz Bar & Lounge at The Portman Ritz-Carlton has a festive afternoon tea set and afternoon tea buffet from now until January 1.

The tranquil lounge has been decked out with Christmas decorations, including a gold trimmed Christmas tree next to the fireplace.

As a person who doesn’t have a sweet tooth, I’ve always wondered what’s the draw behind afternoon tea? After experiencing a leisurely afternoon sipping on tea and picking on snacks with a friend, our spot next to the Christmas tree felt more like my living room than a plush hotel lobby. Afternoon tea—a good shout for quality catching up with a friend that doesn’t involve a full dinner nor drinking. It’s rather refreshing.

Afternoon Tea Sets & Buffet

The Ritz Bar & Lounge has a festive afternoon tea, available from now until January 1, 2022.

The afternoon tea buffet is available on Saturdays and Sundays, and is ¥188 per person or ¥328 for two.

A spread of sweets from whole Christmas logs to ice cream topped waffles made a la minute, roasted hazelnuts, raspberry profiteroles, pavlova, and a whole chocolate fountain. Savory dishes include lobster rolls, turkey sandwiches, inure tartellette, ratatouille sandwiches, and beef pastrami. Also includes tea or coffee.

The afternoon tea set is available on weekdays, ¥298 for two to share. Included in the set are sweets and savouries including a vanilla and cherry “gift box”, foie gras lollipops, turkey and cranberry sandwich, pistachio tart, traditional scones, and chocolate scones, served with clotted cream, butter, and jam. It also comes with tea or coffee for two.
