In Photos: Omakase at Maekawa
Maekawa, a Japanese restaurant in Gubei serving omakase, opened in 2008 by veteran chef Maekawa-San. Earlier this year, shortly before celebrating its 14th year, it relocated to Xingyi Lu. It now resides in the same complex as Xiao’s Izakaya and Monbei Soba.
The style of omakase is traditional, old school rather, served by a playful and comedic Maekawa-San. Expect sushi to be placed directly onto the palm of your hand. The bar counter seats 9 at a squeeze; private rooms also available.
Two menus: ¥980 and ¥1,280.
