Entry Ban for Foreigners to China

China has decided to temporarily suspend the entry into China by foreign nationals holding visas or residence permits still valid to the time of this announcement, effective from 0 a.m., 28 march 2020.

Entry by foreign nationals with APEC Business Travel Cards will be suspended as well. Policies including port visas, 24/72/144-hour visa-free transit policy, Hainan 30-day visa-free policy, 15-day visa-free policy specified for foreign cruise-group-tour through Shanghai Port, Guangdong 144-hour visa-free policy specified for foreign tour groups from Hong Kong or Macao SAR, and Guangxi 15-day visa-free policy specified for foreign tour groups of ASEAN countries will also be temporarily suspended. Entry with diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visas will not be affected.

Who can still enter ?

1.Entry with diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visas will not be affected.

2.The Permanent Residence ID Card holder can still come in the country.

3.Entry by foreign nationals with visas issued by their country’s embassy after this announcement will not be affected.

14-day Quarantine in Guangzhou Goverment Facility

Starting from 6:00 on 27th March, anyone coming from overseas through Guangzhou port (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan areas, including transit passengers):

1.If destination is in Guangzhou or outside Guangdong province, passengers travelling will be put in quarantine in Guangzhou at the government facilities and nucleic acid testing will be performed for everyone. The entire related fee will be paid by travelers.

2.If their destinations are cities other than Guangzhou in Guangdong province, they will be transferred to their destinations cities from the airport where nucleic acid testing will be performed after which they will be put in quarantine at the destination city.

Number of international flights to China reduced

On March 26, the civil aviation administration of China (CAAC) issued a notice that each domestic airline can only maintain one route to any country, and each route can operate no more than one flight per week. Each foreign airline can only maintain one route to China, and no more than one flight per week. Strict control measures are in place on flights arriving and leaving China to ensure that the load factor is less than 75%.
