How to improve the community you currently live in?

Generally speaking, I enjoy the environment in my community, yet it still has some room for improvement. For one thing, I hope that each building could have one more elevator so that the residents needn’t wait long when they get back from work. What’s more, it would be nice if at least one of these elevators is pet-free, I mean, there are people like me who are afraid of dogs and cats and always feel anxious when staying near them. Once I was pressed for time yet had to wait for an elevator; when the door finally opened, there were two big huskies standing inside, both staring at me. I knew that they wouldn’t jump at me, but I was too scared to get in. Moreover, I’d love it if our community has some recreational facilities. Currently, there is some green space and I think we may build little parks in them so that children or the elderly could play games or do some exercise there.

Some people made decisions on their own; others prefer to ask their families or friends for advice. Which one do you prefer and why?

答案示例

It’s true that families and friends may give me useful suggestions, but I still prefer to make decisions on my own. I think I need to take the responsibility, I mean, if I let others influence my choice, I may blame others and find excuses for myself once the thing doesn’t work out as expected. But that is wrong. Several years ago I took my sister’s advice and chose accounting as my major since she said it promised a good job, yet it turned out that I was rather poor in such an area. I still think that I’ve wasted four years in the university and I kind of blame my sister for this even though deep inside I know that it’s really my fault. Besides, although families and friends may know me well, still, they are in different situations and have their own perspectives, which means their suggestions may not work well in my case. I’d rather trust myself when it comes to important decisions.
