20180311口语真题 Task1
Which of the following functions of cell phone do you think is most useful for students:
1) Take photos
2) Listening to the music
3) Tape videos
答案示例
From my perspective, students often use their cell phones to take photos. Girls like taking selfies and post them to their social network sites. Also, teenagers tend to share their experience with friends through photos. For example, every time I go to Hong Kong for the SAT test, I would spend the next day hanging around the city and use my cell phone to record the beauty of the Victoria Harbor, the mouth-watering dishes in local restaurants, and some amazing stores hidden in the alley. In this way, my families at home could appreciate those wonderful things with me. Besides, students also use cell phones to take photos in class. Sometimes they don’t have enough time to copy the notes on the blackboard and it’s a good idea to take photos first and organize the notes after class. When looking for references in the library, I also take photos of some pages in the book which I find useful for my assignments. It’s quite convenient.

Some parents prevent their children from making mistakes while others don’t. Which one do you think is better for children?
答案示例
I think parents should allow their children to make mistakes since such experience would be beneficial for their development, I mean, we can learn from failures. Although there’re many instructions that guide us along the way, children may still do something wrong since, for example, they tend to act on impulse or those guidelines don’t fit into their specific situation. Once children make mistakes, they form a deep impression, which leads them to better think about what should have been done so that they could avoid similar mistakes in the future. Moreover, some people argue that once children fail, they may feel frustrated, which could hurt their self-confidence. However, I believe it is experience like this that builds their character and helps them become stronger. Parents don’t need to watch each step of the children so as to protect them from mistakes; instead, they should keep their children on the right track and make sure that kids could recover and learn from mistakes.
