Describe an unexpected change that you can’t imagine ten years ago.

Last month I tried sky-diving in New Zealand, yet ten years ago, I couldn’t have imagined that I should have the courage for things like this. In fact, I was rather timid as a kid, I mean, I didn’t like socializing or enjoying sports with friends during the spare time. Yet things changed when I met Jackie. She is adventurous and curious about anything. When we were in junior high school, she convinced me to join the drama club with her, where we had to cast in various roles on stage. Actually, I felt a little bit uncomfortable at first, but with her by the side, I gradually loosened up and that was like discovering another person in me. That experience has shaped my character. Now I especially like pushing myself towards things which make my heart beat fast. And I’m not the kid who hides behind the scenes any more.

Children should listen to or watch the news.
答案示例
I think children need to listen to or watch the news even when they’re little. Some people may argue that news are boring and kids would be more interested in something more fun such as TV series or animations; besides, children may be too young to form any serious opinions concerning those news events. However, there are various kinds of news reports, ranging from political, economic to scientific or recreational, some of which may seem more relevant and appealing to children. What’s more, I think we should give children more credit when it comes to their understanding of news events. After all, it’s totally subjective and there’s no right or wrong answer regarding personal views. By watching news, children would get more familiar with the current affairs and learn to form and voice their opinions, which helps develop their independent thinking skills.
