I think candidates’ performance during the interview is the most important factor with respect to recruitment. Some people may argue that since interview can be prepared for, it may not reveal the authentic qualities of a person. However, the fact that someone goes to great length to prepare for the interview does show his/her sincerity and desire for the job. Moreover, experienced interviewers could always find out whether the person is suitable for the position. For example, recruiters would learn about candidates’ academic background or working experience, whether they possess good communicating skills, and how they react to unexpected situation. Thing like these tells a lot about a person. In contrast, people with weak educational background are not necessarily incompetent while those with much work experience may still be unreliable. These two factors need to be taken into consideration, yet they don’t weigh as much as interview performance.

Although some decoration may add colors to the surroundings, generally speaking, I prefer to keep my place simple. It feels classy. As the saying goes, “Less is more.” I think a place free of decoration could trigger my imagination, I mean, it’s just like the water-color painting which leaves most space blank and only has a little human figure drawn at one corner or a light touch of mountain somewhere in the middle. It is the blank that gives the painting its character and spirit. In a place with little decoration, I could stay away from distractions and find inner peace, which offers inspiration and provokes thinking. Besides, I won’t trust myself with decorations since I don’t have a good taste in this respect and also, I may quickly get bored with the decorations I’ve selected and it’s just a waste of money to make changes frequently.
