I’ll help my friend review for the upcoming exam. For one thing, I’ll suggest that he adjust his timetable, for example, to try to keep early hours. In this way, he could attend the remaining classes, which could be very important because professors tend to lead students to go over the knowledge they’ve already covered in class and there may be some information related to what may be on the exam. Although the last few classes cannot make up for the all those missed ones, still, it’s way better than not attending any class at all. Moreover, I’ll lend my notes to him and study for the finals together with him since on the one hand, this will help him catch up with the rest of the class and on the other hand, I think one of the most effective ways to check if I’ve truly comprehended certain information is explaining it to another person. During the process, I could comb my thoughts and deepen understanding as well.

I suggest that the student association eliminate the hiking club because students could organize such activity on their own. When I was in high school, many of my school mates were fond of hiking. When someone got an idea about a perfect location, he/she usually looked for potential participants on the bulletin board and those who were interested just contacted him/her and signed up. We usually went hiking in some mountains or hills nearby and everyone brought their own snacks and beverage, I mean, it’s not that necessary to let a student association get involved in the whole thing. In contrast, a speech and debate club does need proper arrangement. For example, debaters must be chosen and divided into different groups, and topics would be settled down in advance. Also, room needs to be booked during certain time slot, not to mention the promotion of the debate so that there’ll be audience at presence. The student association could make sure that things go smoothly.
