I hope that the new section would provide tips for traveling, which could be quite helpful. There are plenty of breaks or vocations throughout the four years on campus, during which students may go backpacking on their own or join some self-service package tours organized by student associations. In either case, tips for traveling would come in handy. For example, the section may offer practical suggestions about how to book air ticket at a low price, which travellers’ inn is highly recommended, and some must-try local delicacies or scenic spots. Although we could find relevant information on tourist brochures or books, the one shared in the campus newspaper may be more useful since for one thing, the information is up-to-date considering that the newspaper is usually published weekly and moreover, it’s described from students’ perspectives, which may be more readily accessible to people on campus.

When facing difficulties, some people would hold a humorous attitude while others adopt a serious attitude. Which one do you prefer and why?

I usually adopt a serious attitude when dealing with difficulties. Some people prefer a humorous attitude since they feel that if they take it easy, they may be less stressful or nervous, therefore addressing those problems in a more relaxing manner. However, I think anything that gets me stuck deserves my full attention. For example, once my teacher assigned us a rather difficult project. Some of the group members treated the task lightly as if it were just a game, but it made me feel that they were unreliable and incompetent. In contrast, me and my friends made a thorough plan and then worked hard on data collection and analysis. We thought that only in this way could we have a better shot at handling the project well and even though the whole thing might fail later, we wouldn’t feel embarrassed or find excuses for ourselves.
