I think a friendly roommate is the most important factor that would influence my choice of housing on campus. Since we share a room, her personality matters a lot to me. I hope that she is nice and friendly so that whenever we have conflict, we could talk about it and patch things up soon. In contrast, it would be a torture living with someone who usually gives me silence treatment or quarrels with me over some trivial issues. On the other hand, I don’t need a big living space since it makes me feel kind of lonely especially when left alone. And also, compared with dining out, home-cooked meals seem more appealing to me. I like cooking together with my roommate, especially during festivals. We could make a big nice meal and enjoy a pleasant celebration.

I think it’s better to set up a community center and let the elderly attend computer classes. For one thing, it’s more fun to learn with a bunch of people than taking courses at home. The class may remind the elderly of the time when they were back in school, sitting around each other and listening to the teachers. Plus, the atmosphere will be conducive to learning, I mean, it may take time and effort to teach them how to type or surf the internet, so when they get stuck, sometimes it’s better for them to ask each other for help rather than turning to the teacher as they may find it more comfortable discussing about the problems with their peers. In contrast, it seems boring to learn computer in a one-on-one manner and also, some elderly may not like having strangers in their home.
