Some stores encourage customers to use reusable bags and charge people for using plastic bags. Describe the advantage and/or disadvantage of this behavior.

Well, frankly speaking, although reusable bags are friendly to the environment and should be used more often than plastic bags, I don’t think it’ll work, I mean, people who want to use the plastic bag will continue to use it despite of the cost. How much money could stores charge them anyway? It’s just a plastic bag, after all. Nowadays, most of us already know the kind of damage caused by such artifacts, it’s just people choose to put their convenience over environment or money. If the store does want to encourage the use of reusable bags, it may as well stop providing plastic bags in the first place. Maybe it could offer paper or cloth bags instead, and put a sign in front of the store, informing customers that they can either bring their own bags from home or buy those environmental-friendly ones. I think it’s gonna be more effective.

When visiting museums that allow people to take photos of the displayed paintings, would you take photos or just observing?

I prefer not to take photos when visiting the museum even if camera is allowed inside. For one thing, although I’m not sure if flashes from the camera would cause damage to the art works, I know that they’ll definitely distract other people. What’s more, sometimes I forget to turn the cell phone into the vibration mode and the noises made by it when taking photos would be rather annoying, which makes me embarrassed as well. Besides, why people want to take photos in the museum is beyond me. I mean, when we enjoy those paintings on the wall, we usually study the techniques used by artists, read the illustrations below, or simply appreciate the beauty of those works, but what’s the purpose of taking photos? Why not just downloading the photos taken by professional photographers from the internet?
