Crosby Studios是一个在美国俄罗斯两地同时运作的室内设计工作室。

主创设计师建筑师Harry Nuriev毕业于莫斯科建筑学院。除了对于现代主义的偏好，他还钟爱古罗马和希腊的建筑形态。在设计中Harry常常运用拱形和的陡降（swooping）的多变形态，从而产生生动多样的产品/建筑形态。

“The 33-year-old Russian architect and furniture designer Harry Nuriev has emerged as one of the style’s masters. Like his contemporaries — Brooklyn-based Bower, Milan-based Studiopepe, Los Angeles-based Etc.etera — he pairs the high polish of brass with rough-hewn materials (broken ceramics, raw ceilings), returns often to the natural curve of the arch (“it’s the shape of the human body,” he says) and has used millennial pink (before it was called that, mind you) on everything from fur chairs to bathroom walls.”

尽管上述英文带着嘲讽的语气描述了Crosby Studios由Harry设计的产品，顺便讽刺了一下现象化的网红设计风格，但是除去褒贬评价之外的描述和总结还是非常精确的。

本期介绍来自Crosby Studios的三组家具设计。

Crosby Studio 第一次进入大众视野的系列家具设计（参加了纽约设计周），据说灵感来源于古罗马建筑和现代日本大师，比如：性冷淡风鼻祖仓俣史朗。

Crosby Studio 在Coleection I的基础上添加了玫瑰色和蓝色系列，在此之外设计了多人沙发和灯具。

Crosby Studio 位于纽约的 loft，厨房和用餐区域都是大量的粉色为主题的柜子和桌椅。

在纽约设计周中发现了Crosby Studio的家具，又被他们满眼粉色的浴室所吸引（pinterest上minimal bathroom前几搜索就能看到crosby designe的浴室，对就是下图），对于如何框定空间和卫浴风格的一致性真的是很不错的案例，于是想介绍一期来自crosby studio的colourful minimalism。

“This style, in part, follows last decade’s midcentury modern craze, though softens those hard edges, making a space more inviting. It’s also an outgrowth of market forces: The popularity of midcentury furniture rendered the classics too costly for young designers, who were forced to look for more obscure vintage inspiration. Of course, it takes a new generation of designers to see old decades with fresh eyes: Often, they’ve been exposed to only its most superlative examples, and only in magazines and books, as opposed to, say, their Great-aunt Marg’s apartment. And then there’s the fact that simpler forms, like the arch, don’t require the craftsmanship of more complicated designs.”

尽管如此，对于日益成熟的网红家具体系——北欧风，极简风，日式风的趋同性的确需要引起我们的注意，以及在设计中如何避免下意识套用现有模版、如何在“老套”而又“遍地开花”的网红建筑/家具的大环境下重新审视设计的独特性等等都是我们要思考的问题。
