As BYD's flagship sedan, the BYD Han hit the market on July 12, 2021, coming with two powertrain solutions. The all-electric version is priced between 229,800 yuan ($35,460) and 279,500 yuan ($43,130) after subsidies, while the DM version's prices range from 219,800 yuan ($33,920) to 239,800 yuan ($37,010).

With dimensions of 4,980mm/4,960mm long, 1,910mm wide and 1,495mm tall and a wheelbase spanning 2,929mm, the BYD Han plays in the league of full-sized sedans. Partly thanks to a silhouette of a four-door coupe, the new vehicle features a drag coefficient of 0.233 Cd.

The BYD Han BEV is the first model that adopts the company's Blade Battery. Thanks to the battery, the model can run up to 605 kilometers (376 miles) in NEDC cycle on one single charge. It can be recharged to 80% from 30% of the battery capacity within 25 minutes.

For the first half of 2021, the insurance registrations of the BYD Han amounted to 46,244 units, according to the China Insurance Regulatory Commission. The insurance volume reached 10,438 units in June, leaping 34% compared to the previous month.
