Colin Patrick Smith

Colin Patrick Smith was born and reared in Rockford, IL.  In 2005 he received his BFA from Columbia College Chicago, and in 2009 he proceeded to complete an MFA in Photography from Yale University where he was presented with the Ward Cheney Memorial Award.  Immediately after leaving university he packed a Uhaul and drove to Los Angeles where he has been living and photographing ever since.  Published in Searching for the Light and SOMA, Smith’s work has been featured in numerous galleries including: Capricious Gallery, Brooklyn; Gallery 339, Philadelphia; the Eighth Veil, Los Angeles. He has also shown in exhibitions Arrive and Likewise Depart (2014), The Nature of Painting and Photography (2015), and The Promise of Something and Nothing (2015) at Sonce Alexander Gallery, Los Angeles.
