致艺穗朋友们的一封信

致艺穗朋友们：

      深圳湾艺穗节自2010年发起至今，“人人艺术，处处舞台”一直是我们坚守的信念。在这十年的时间里，与其说深圳湾艺穗节是在寻找和介入城市文化，不如说我们是在不断地伴随城市变化而进行文化重塑。

      2020年，一场全球性突发的公共卫生事件，让生活改变了原有的固定轨迹，直面暂停了社交活动以及打乱了所有工作计划。上半年的缓步，让我们在这段停滞的时光夹缝中学习如何蓄势而发，然后在下半年作出回应。

      作为节庆组织者，勇于突破常规，扩大甚至推翻大众对于“艺术”的定义和想象，让更多人参与其中，一直是我们的目标之一。同样，作为艺术机构，我们考虑如何超越壁垒并触及每个人显得尤为重要。我们相信文化和艺术能够帮助人们团结和康复，也很自豪能够通过我们所做的工作来实现这一点。

      每个现场都是通往记忆场所的通道，媒介给予不在场的观众与信息连接的机会，而现场创造的是直接、当下的真实体验。2020深圳湾艺穗节将围绕跨界合作、培养新锐、委约新作、在地参与这四大范畴。我们期待演出环境的变化，所换来的不仅是与观众互动形式上的创新，而是通过灵动的艺术创作与表达，真诚且立体的传递我们不曾失去的艺术初心。我们仍相信，经过这段人人需保持距离的间隔时期，未来大家也会更珍惜共同在场的相聚时光。

      艺术仍将在每个角落服务大众，我们也将继续守护更多热爱，点燃更多可能。好看的艺穗不会缺席，期待大家与我们一起，参与这件有趣又正确的事情。

Dear Friends,

Since the launch of Shenzhen Fringe Festival in 2010, “Art Everyone, Stage Everywhere” has always been our belief. During this decade, Shenzhen Fringe Festival constantly endeavours to culture remoulding rather than searching and intervening in urban culture.

In 2020, a public health emergency of international concern has changed the routine of life, bringing social suspension and disrupting all work plans. In the first half of the year, we have learnt how to recharge and restart in this stagnant time, and will respond in our work in the second half of the year.

As the organiser of the festival, it has always been one of our goals to break through the conventions, expand or even overturn the public’s definition and imagination of art, and to let more people participate in it. At the same time, as an art institution, it is important for us to think about how we can surmount barriers and reach everyone. We believe that culture and art can help people unite and heal, and we are proud to be able to achieve it through our work.

Every scene is a medium, also a gateway to memory. The network media provides the audience who is not on site with the opportunity to connect with the information, while the scene creates a direct and real experience. Shenzhen Fringe Festival 2020 will focus on four major areas: CROSSOVER COOPERATION, YOUNG CULTIVATION, NEW WORK COMMISSION and LOCAL PARTICIPATION. We look forward to the change of performance environment, and what we get in return is not only the innovation in the form of interaction with the audience, but also sincerely conveying our original artistic heart that we have never lost through flexible creation and expression. We do believe in the future everyone will all cherish the time that people could get together after this period of social distancing.

Art will still serve the public in every corner. We will also continue guarding more love and passion, and igniting more possibilities.

The fascinating Fringe will not be absent. We are looking forward to meeting you again. Let's do the interesting and right things!
