Gene弥金画廊将推出群展《从叠影间穿过》,参展艺术家包括陈拍岸、陈泳因、曹澍、费亦宁、郭锦泓,展览由杜帆策划,展期自2022年8月26日至2022年9月20日。


Gene Gallery is delighted to announce Passing Between Reality and Falsehood,  artist including Chen Paian, Doreen Chan, Cao Shu, Fei Yining and Avita Guo, the group exhibition is curated by Duffy Du, from August 26, 2022 to September 20, 2022.

在查理·考夫曼Charlie Kaufman)的影片《纽约提喻法》(Synecdoche, New York2008)中,戏剧导演凯顿在剧场内打造出一场人造纽约城的戏剧项目,重现他所处现实生活中的人物(包括他自己)、场景、事件,演绎了一场和真实世界重叠的剧场表演,影片通过在虚构与真实之间的日常事件、身份属性、情感流动,架构出过去与未来的并置景观。


In Charlie Kaufman's film Synecdoche, New York (2008), theater director Kayton creates a faux New York City theatrical project in the theater, recreating his The character (including himself), scenes, and events in real life, perform a theater performance that overlaps with the real world. Through the daily events, identity attributes, and emotional flows between fiction and reality, the film constructs the past and The juxtaposed landscape of the future.

而乌托邦带入式的生活憧憬折射在历史的每个时期,人类情不自禁对理想生活进行向往,透过各种形式实现。是曾流亡变卖为奴的古希腊哲学家会为心中理想国度制定合宜的纲领,是东晋诗人谱写出迷路的渔人误闯入隐秘的世外桃源的诗词,孩童时期的小朋友效仿角色扮家家酒,也是在21世纪以后,伴随着互联网时代飞速发展的单机游戏让人类在虚拟世界中重塑人生,近年上岛联机游戏更成为心中净土。这些诗歌、文学乃至游戏中不断地被注入个人现实生活的残影,在虚幻中获取真情实感的喜悦。


The vision of life brought by utopia is reflected in every period of history, and human beings can't help yearning for the ideal life and realize it through various forms. It was the ancient Greek philosopher who had been exiled and sold into slavery who would formulate a suitable program for the ideal country in his heart. It was the poet of the Eastern Jin Dynasty who wrote the poem of a lost fisherman who accidentally broke into a hidden paradise, also after the 21st century, with the rapid development of stand-alone games in the Internet era, human beings can reshape their lives in the virtual world. In recent years, online games on the island have become a pure land in the heart. These poems, literature and even games are constantly injected with the afterimages of personal real life, obtaining the joy of true feelings in the illusion.

本社会学家宫台真司在1990年代提出永无终结的日常指出无论经过怎样的变革或崩塌下,人类依旧会再次回归对美好生活的憧憬。本次展览邀请了五位艺术家,他们的作品聚焦在日常里或真实或虚假的切片,由各自积累地生活经验出发的绘画、浮雕、装置、影像等各类型的全新创作,试图描绘出基于日常的事件和情绪、个人认知的思考,或是以真实提出疑问的探索。


In the 1990s, Japanese sociologist Shinji Miyatai proposed the "everyday without end" and pointed out that no matter what changes or collapses go through, human beings will still return to their longing for a better life. This exhibition invites five artists. Their works focus on slices of everyday life, real or false, and new creations of various types, such as paintings, reliefs, installations, and videos, based on their accumulated life experiences. events and emotions, reflections on personal cognition, or explorations that ask real questions.




关于艺术家



陈拍岸(b.1988),目前生活工作于上海。通过对广告图像和大众消费逻辑的观察,他将消费品图像展示逻辑应用到绘画中,并以多种媒介制作出带有主观加工和绘制痕迹的拟真画面,在自然和人工景观中寻找立足点。
Chen Paian (b.1988), currently lives and works in Shanghai. Through the observation of advertising images and the logic of mass consumption, he applies the display logic of consumer goods images to paintings, and uses various media to produce realistic pictures with traces of subjective processing and drawing, finding a foothold in natural and artificial landscapes.

陈泳因(b.1987), 生于香港,现生活于芝加哥。个人感知、物质性与日常生活被忽略的细节是她的主要兴趣和创作题材。在她进行中的参与式艺术项目《半梦》中,陈氏延续探索人与人的关系、个人记忆,以及它们与城市生活种种片段的联接。
Doreen Chan (b.1987), born in Hong Kong, currently lives and works in Chicago. Personal perception, materiality, and the neglected details of everyday life are her main interests and themes. In her current participatory art project, HalfDream, she focuses on re-examining the tensions between interpersonal relationships, personal memories and immediate environments.

曹澍(b.1987),出生于山东济宁,现工作生活于杭州。他的作品往往基于3D数字模拟影像装置、电子游戏等,构造暗藏众多分支的叙事,形成不同媒介之间相互关联的意义网络。这些工作往往基于某个特定地点和空间展开,关于历史事件或个人记忆,并提出开放性的问题。
Cao Shu (b.1987), born in Jining, Shandong, currently lives and works in Hangzhou. His works are often based on 3D digital analog video installations, video games, etc., constructing narratives with many hidden branches, and forming a network of interrelated meanings between different media. These works are often based on a specific place and space, and ask open-ended questions about historical events or personal memories.

费亦宁现工作生活于上海。创作媒介涵盖动画、影像、雕塑等。围绕着实验性文本展开,她通过推想叙事结合虚幻与真实,尝试探问后人类时代背景下可能的另类生存状态。
Fei Yining currently lives and works in Shanghai. The creative medium includes animation, video, sculpture, etc. Revolving around experimental texts, she combines fantasy and reality through speculative narratives, trying to explore possible alternative states of existence in the context of the post-human era.

郭锦泓,生于格尔木,长于青海、山东、俄罗斯和伦敦。她目前的艺术创作是结合小说写作,以绘画、影像装置等媒介来关注个人内化于现实环境中的崩塌、政治立场的变革和个人如何于消散的现代性中自持、文学性与诗性在内心与外界的裂缝中的变化。
Avita Guo was born in Golmud and grew up in Qinghai, Shandong, Russia and London. Her current artistic creation is combined with novel writing, using painting, video installation and other media to pay attention to the collapse of personal internalization in the real environment, the change of political stance and how the individual is self-sustaining in the dissipated modernity, literature and poetry. Changes in the rift between inner and outer.

关于策展人



杜帆,出生于湖北武汉,现工作生活于北京。她曾先后就职于UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心,德萨画廊和马达思班建筑事务所。她关注诗性意识流文本及泛民族志影像如何作为方法论应用于当代艺术叙事,注重与艺术家单对单的深入梳理个人叙事及线性时间中的彼此共鸣。她于2019年入围北京OCAT研究中心“研究型展览计划”终选名单。她的评论采访文章发表于《Artforum中文网》、《Ocula》、《ARTBBS》等媒体平台。

Duffy Du was born in Wuhan and currently lives and works in Beijing. From 2015 to 2021, she worked at MADA s.p.a.m, de Sarthe Gallery, Beijing, and the exhibitions department at UCCA Center for Contemporary Art. Du is interested in how poetic stream-of-conscious texts and ethnographical imagery can be applied as methodologies within the narrative of contemporary art. She seeks to interact in-depth with artists’ personal narratives across a linear timeline. In 2019, her curation was featured in OCAT Institute Beijing’s “Researched-based Curatorial Project: Shortlist Exhibition.” Her writing has been published on platforms such as Artforum, Ocula, and ARTBBS.
