Being a Panther at the Olympiad！| 奥林匹亚盛会上的德威美洲豹！

The week before Spring Break, 73 students and 12 staff headed to London for the Dulwich Olympiad. A longer, more detailed report from students will come out in the next couple of weeks, but in the meantime, I wanted to share with the community how proud I was of the whole team. And when I say “team”, I mean allthe Art, Music, Drama, and Sport students and their teachers who embarked on this epic journey.

Before we departed, we talked about what it means to be a Panther, including how we support each other in the classroom, on the field, and on the stage. We talked about taking responsibility, being resilient and adaptable, and having high expectations of each other and ourselves. We talked about being aware of where you are, following instructions, and taking care of each other.

From the moment the students and staff disembarked in London, their school spirit was evident, but the most tangible moment for me was the tug of war. Only 16 students participated, but it was as if all 73 students were on that team. Cheers of “Let’s go, Panthers!” echoed around the College, louder even than the cheering from the home team. This set the tone for the whole trip, as our cheers were the loudest whether we were on stage, in a classroom, or on the field. 

We are extremely grateful to all the students and staff who came on this trip. The attitudes they chose to have, despite their tiredness or the complicated days, made it an absolute pleasure to lead. I have never been prouder to be a Panther.

春假前一周，我校73名学生和12名教职人员共同赴伦敦参加德威奥林匹亚盛会。来自学生们的长篇详尽报告将在未来几周内公布，但此时此刻，我想与全校社区一同分享，我为自己是这个团队中的一员而感到多么骄傲。我所说的团队，包括踏上此次非凡旅程的所有艺术、音乐、戏剧和体育课

程师生。

出发前，我们曾探讨过作为“美洲豹”意味着什么，我们应如何在课堂、运动场或舞台上互相支持。我们讨论了如何承担责任、培养韧性与适应能力，以及如何对他人和自己赋予高期望。我们还谈到了处境意识、遵循指示和互相关怀。

从师生们抵达伦敦的那一刻起，他们所发扬的学校精神就显而易见了; 但对我来说，最切实感受到这种精神的时刻是在拔河比赛上。虽然只有16名学生参加，但就好像73名同学同时都在那支队伍中。“加油，美洲豹”的呼声在整个校园内回响，甚至比主队的加油声更为响亮。这为整次行程定下了基调，无论我们是在舞台上，在教室里还是在赛场上，我们的助威声都是最响亮的。

对于参与此次行程的所有师生，我想表示由衷的感谢；尽管身体疲惫，在比赛中遇到挫折，他们仍选择以积极的态度来面对。能够领导一支这样的团队，我感到无比荣幸，也从未对自己身为美洲豹的一员而感到如此自豪。
