WHAT'S NEW 城中事
The class of 2019 has worked hard in the classroom, played well on the sports fields, and performed well onstage and musically. They have been a creative group, a collaborative group, and a group who raises the bar with every question they ask.
As a class, the group is internationally diverse, coming from eleven different countries and planning to attend universities in seven different countries. Some of them have been HIS students for more than eight years, some arrived just a few years ago, but no matter when they joined HIS, they are proudly HIS Gold Dragons!
With the multiple languages, cultural systems, and experiences at the heart of the group, the discussions in the classroom pushed each member to think about the global impact of their actions. As a group, they were supportive of each other, and their academic success is in large part in proportion to their willingness to take responsibility for their own learning, and their interest in ideas. Each member of the class has developed personal interests and areas of strength that benefit the class as a whole.
These students are preparing for the next chapter of their lives, and for most of them, it will be living in a different location than they have yet lived. They have begun to understand their own differences as Third Culture Kids who have been shaped by their time in China, but who have also influenced others with whom they have come into contact.
For the parents who are seeing their children graduate this week and go off to university in the fall, we want to congratulate each of them for a job well done.
The Class of 2019 have taken the lessons shared with them and are internalizing their own experiences to become the adults our world needs in the future!

HIS is an IB World School that offers the expatriate community in Hangzhou an inclusive international experience and curriculum (Nursery to Grade 12) based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.
