疫情的反复打破我们期待中的夏天，让原本车水马龙的上海蒙上了灰色的阴影，让原本多姿多彩的生活添上了几分焦躁与不安；然而，疫情带不走我们对于爱与艺术的感知，我们的信心与勇气还在，我们的憧憬和希望还在。在这个启动所有感官的好时节，ShanghaiSpotlight将继续奉上非同寻常的艺术盛宴。在此我们高兴地向大家宣布，ShanghaiSpotlight聚焦上海艺术市集即将于7月9日拉开大幕。这场艺术浓度超高、潮酷与文化并存的艺术市集将持续三个周末，诚邀各位一同前往。

Hello and welcome to all our regular readers! Spring and early summer has proved to be a challenging time for the city of Shanghai and it’s residents. Repeated outbreaks of Covid-19 and the restrictions that they necessarily entailed have meant that social and cultural life for many of us has been very limited. While this situation was unfortunately unavoidable the team at Shanghai Spotlight are delighted to announce that our Spotlight Art Market has now been confirmed and will commence on Saturday, 9nd July 2022. A lot of effort behind the scenes has gone into producing a provocative and exciting spectacle for our readers to enjoy, and celebrate the return of art and cultural exchange to the great city of Shanghai!

Here is a brief introduction to some of the prestigious museums and galleries we have invited to join our show. We are genuinely excited at the scope and quality of the art we hope to present to you, with various styles and characteristics invoking contrasting reactions. We don’t intend to play it safe and monotonous here, but rather the full inclusiveness and diversity that art has to offer. The Art Bridge Space is an offline experience store operating under Guangxi Normal University Press, which integrates art museum stores, art bookstores and galleries. Memory Aesthetics is a pioneering art brand under Yushe International Design. One of their primary focuses is to recreate objects encountered in daily life to allow them to be perceived in new and enigmatic ways. Memory Aesthetics is divided into three parts; design of original works of art, DIY creation and the sharing of works of art by the general public.

Take the photo frame, an object that can be seen everywhere in our daily lives. After a flexible manual process it can become not merely a background but a work of art worth sharing in its own right. This is how we perceive the meaning of art in our existence. During the Spotlight Art Market, Memory Aesthetics will focus on the DIY creation of meaningful art, and present frame art and look to inspire our audience to design their own works based on these principles.

We will also facilitate an interactive art area on site, where children and adults together can create their own memory aesthetic photo art frames. All raw materials will be recycled as one of our key philosophies is that  ‘the second use of materials increases our enjoyment of art while simultaneously reminding ourselves of environmental responsibilities’

#厘米空间

厘米空间CM space是一家专业推广与传播当代文化与艺术的机构，位于上海知名艺术园区m50，定期举办不同的艺术家展览与文化沙龙，旗下代理众多优秀艺术家的艺术作品。

此次艺术市集，厘米空间展位将带来人气艺术家的作品，和众多好玩的衍生品，现场还会有艺术家互动，艺术家现场创作，游客也可以上手来学！

CM Space is an organization specialized in promoting and disseminating contemporary culture and art. It is located in M50, a well-known art park in Shanghai. It regularly holds different artist exhibitions and cultural salons, and acts as an agent for the artistic works of many outstanding artists.

In this art fair, CM Space  booth will bring works of popular artists and many interesting derivatives. There will also be artist interaction on site. Artists create on site, and visitors can learn from them!

凡谱操场旗下的小卖部是关注以创作者为核心的品牌，涉及插画，特殊手工艺品，独立设计师品牌，艺术家周边产品等。挖掘各行各业的创作者，鼓励多元媒介输出，也会力所能及提供产品化服务。除线下合作的艺术空间，也正在推出线上虚拟展厅，为参与的创作者提供更多样性的展示宣传模式。

The canteen under SPECTRUM PLAYGROUND focuses on the brand with the creator as the core, involving illustrations, special handicrafts, independent designer brands, artists' peripheral products, etc. We will tap creators from all walks of life, encourage multi-media output, and provide product-based services within our capabilities. In addition to the art space for offline cooperation, online virtual exhibition halls are also being launched to provide more diversified display and publicity modes for participating creators.

"CPCHEN" is an art alliance of artists, collectors, curators and curators. #Shanghai Spotlight聚焦上海

还有来自国内外各地的艺术家进行作品展示，让大家在逛市集的同时，可以领略不同艺术作品的魅力，感受多元素和材料的画作的冲击。

The Shanghai Pavilion focuses on the exhibition of domestic and foreign artists. Although some excellent artists at home and abroad can not attend in person due to the epidemic, they will select some of their works to display in the art market. These vibrant art works will be a feast for your eyes. 

还有青年艺术家，吕祥旖。毕业于意大利米兰布雷拉国立美术学院视觉艺术系。艺术于他而言，是有无，是一切从“无”到“有”产生的根本意义是与世界沟通的桥梁，是所有时空的存在；作品承载了情绪，认知，包含当下所有的一切，是其反思和重塑心灵的过程。从波普艺术中吸取的冷漠超然的风格，使人感到无所事事的轻松。其中，此次Spotlight聚焦上海周边中，明信片、三折页等也由他设计。

Promising young artist Lv Xiangyi will also be presenting examples of his exciting work at the Spotlight Art Market. He graduated from the prestigious Department of Fine Arts of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Italy and will among other efforts be designing postcards and other memorabilia for Spotlight especially for the festival.

From his perspective, art is the fundamental bridge in meaning from ‘nothing’ to ‘something’, a means to communicate across cultures and borders with the world around us. His works attempt new interpretations of emotion and cognition and struggle to represent the challenge of the fluidity of modern reality, a process of reflection and reshaping of his mind. 

The irreverent and transcendental style pioneered in Pop Art acts as a key influence and continues to provide new angles with which to inspire and fascinate. 

Shanghai Spotlight is delighted to cooperate with Lv Xiangyi and we’re excited and inspired to witness his artistic journey unfold! 

Manya来自塞尔维亚。之前，主要在欧洲举办过展览。参加过50多个艺术研讨会和驻场活动，预计今年夏天在成都的NY20+有一个。她最近的作品与亚洲建筑有关，主要是寺庙，专注于强制透视。所有的作品都在画布上，有框架，用优质品牌的丙烯颜料完成。

Manya is a talented artist from Serbia who has been living and working in Shenzhen since 2019. She has gained significant experience since graduating with an MA in Fine Arts in 2008. 

Manya has been involved in a number of both solo and joint exhibitions to date, mostly around Europe and now branching out into Asia. Having participated in over fifty art symposiums and residencies, Manya is expecting to join NY20+ in Chengdu for a residency this summer. 

Manya has recently been drawing inspiration from Asian architecture, particularly temples, with a special emphasis on forced perspective. All works are produced on canvas with high quality brand acrylics.

Kovalenko Alevtina，俄罗斯的画家，她通过自己的绘画创作故事，来分享对世界的看法，并将其作为一种工具来鼓励人们发展自己的想象力和创造力。

Russian/Ukrainian artist Alya, whose art is like a dream state or a fairy tale, in which everything is possible.

The &Art Collective is delighted to bring a variety of dramatic and distinctive black art to the Spotlight Art Market, to introduce and enable you to appreciate the style and talent of these exciting African and  African American artists. With a bold aim of expanding the influence of black art groups through the contemporary market in China and beyond, these dynamic artists are delighted to have the opportunity to show the art lovers of Shanghai  the colour and vibrancy of their vision. 

Glenis Paul通过表演、服装设计、绘画、陶瓷雕塑和研讨会，编织在上海的城市结构中，她重新想象了一个民间传说的世界。

Among the collective is Glenis Paul, the founder of the &Art Collective and a multi-talented artist skilled in media such as painting, ceramic sculpture and costume design.

Glenis is joined by Xavier Owona, the creator of XaferWear, producing wonderful designs influenced by his native Cameroon  and his passion since 2003. 

互动感，是此次艺术市集的一大关键词，现场将会有丰富多样的互动环节等你参与。在此次艺术市集里，艺术变得不再高高在上，而可以亲自参与进行沉浸式的深入体验。比如，我们可以自己制作DIY画框艺术品，可以在艺术长卷上留下自己的涂鸦、还能搭配喜欢的配色颜料浇出属于自己的暴力熊……更有数不清的文创产品等你带回家。

The sense of interaction is a key word of this art fair. There will be a variety of interactive links waiting for you to participate. In this art fair, art has become no longer superior, but can personally participate in an immersive and in-depth experience. For example, we can make DIY frame art by ourselves, leave our own graffiti on the art scroll, and mix with our favorite color pigments to pour out our own violent bears... There are countless cultural and creative products waiting for you to take home.

Participating in an exhibition is also a process of integrating into the city. The venue of this event is located in THE BUND FINANCY CENTER, with a superior geographical location. “圆·行国际插画季”（CIRCLE ILLUSTRATION FESTIVAL）成立于上海与伦敦，旨在为国际插画艺术家打造一个插画“4S”艺术平台——以“Show、Shop、Share、Studio”等形式链接插画艺术，形成多元开放的IP插画展品牌。2022第三季“圆·行国际插画季”由方小龙与Decue WU共同策展，携手全球8位知名插画家：陈林（mumucl）、刘佳、南岛的葵 (Southisland)、Decue WU（巫迪悠）、张璐、George Wylesol、Iris Lei（雷潇）、Xiao Mei倾情奉献！

Let's immerse ourselves in the richness of summer and wander in the charm of art! In addition, there will be artist designed  masks, fans, postcards and T-shirts all with the theme of "Shanghai focus on Shanghai".
