报告摘要
Among optical phenomena associated with frequency conversion, the optical second and third harmonics gennration(SHG and THG) are the simplest nonlinear optical processes. These processes are described by nonlinear susceptibilities of higher order c(2) H c(3) compared to linear optical phenomena(c(1)). Therefore, SHG and THG are very sensitive to sepcific details of crystallographic or magnetic structure. The methods of SHG and THG make it possible to get a new information about mechanisms of light interaction with matte, which cannot be obtained by mean of linear optical techniques. In this lecture various aspects of optical second and third harmonics generation in magnetic dielectrics and semicoductors: magnetoelectric antiferromagnet Cr2O3 hexagonal manganites-multiferroics with the general formula RMnO3(R=Sc, Y,Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu), magnetic semiconductors EuTe H EuSe, diamagnetic semiconductors GaAs, CdTe and ZnO.
