In this talk I will present a robust model of self-propelled rods interacting via volume exclusionand show that its collective dynamics encompasses both that of the corresponding Vicsek-style model (where local alignment is the sole interaction), and motility-induced phase separation (which occurs when repulsion is dominant). These results unify these heretofore largely disconnected bodies of knowledge on dry active matter and clarify the nature ofthe various phases involved.个人简介
施夏清,苏州大学副教授。2005年毕业于南京大学物理系获理论物理学士学位。2010年获南京大学物理学院物理学博士学位。2010年7月起在苏州大学软凝聚态物理及交叉研究中心工作。曾在香港浸会大学,法国原子能委员会,德国Max-Planck复杂物理研究所,美国卡弗里理论物理研究所进行访问研究。施夏清长期从事活性物质理论和模型的研究工作。近几年在活性物质特别是活性液晶态集体动力学方面发表了一系列研究论文,揭示了活性物质体系中奇异的非平衡动力学行为,以及诸多活性实验体系中集体行为背后的统计动力学机制。

Out of equilibrium soft matter is a rapidly growing field of multidisciplinary research with problems ranging from active matter, growth processes in biology, self assembly under imposed constraints to fluctuating hydrodynamics, and nonequilibrium effects on Casimir physics. This workshop intends to develop a synergistic approach to tie together various contemporary problems studied at the crossroads of soft matter and statistical physics connected by the fundamental role of fluctuations.
