个人简介

André Walker-Loud is a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle. He then held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Maryland, The College of William & Mary (W&M), and LBNL followed by a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor of Physics at W&M and as a Senior Staff Scientist at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. In his research, he uses lattice QCD and effective field theory to gain a quantitative understanding of how nuclear physics emerges from QCD. He is also interested in probing the limits of the standard model by testing fundamental symmetries in nuclear environments.

会议简介

A three-week summer school on “Frontiers in Lattice QCD” was held from June 24 - July 12 at Peking University, Beijing. The school contains the major topics of lattice QCD fundamentals, particle- and nuclear-physics frontiers and computational technologies.  The purpose of the school is to educate our future generation for lattice quantum field theory as well as to survey new, powerful computational methods. We invite the world-leading experts to give lectures in our school, and hope to bring a new generation of young theorists into contact with leading experts in these fields and to increase the communication and collaboration among domestic and international research universities and institutes.
