On behalf of the Steering committee, we welcome you to the 2022 International Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society Symposium in China (ACES-China 2022), which is the fifth of the consecutive series initiated in 2017 in Suzhou, followed in 2018 in Beijing, in 2019 in Nanjing, in 2021 in Chengdu and this year in Xuzhou. Since then ACES-China has become an annual international conference and now it has been one of the most important events in worldwide electromagnetic communities. ACES-China 2022 is also truly international: more than 513 papers from eleven countries/regions have been submitted, not only from China but also from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, and Middle East, even we have a online special session from Italy. Besides, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to the leading scientists, session organizers and all contributors for their great help and valuable supports to ACES-China 2022. Many thanks also to the Technical Program Committee, the Organizing Committee and the International Steering Committee as well as the sponsors and the technical sponsors for their efforts to bring all the participants an excellent technical program and an opportunity to spend a pleasant time at the conference.

This conference is organized by National Key Laboratory of Science & Technology on Test Physics and Numerical Mathematics headquatered in Beijing, with the local organizer China University of Mining and Technology located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. CUMT have two campuses in Wenchang and Nanhu, and now is the only high-level university with distinctive characteristics named after mining in the country. It has created a first-class brand and unique spiritual and cultural character of China's coal higher education. The coordinated development of disciplines and professional systems such as science, engineering, literature, management, law, economics, teaching and arts, and the school-running pattern of a multi-disciplinary university have made sufficient historical preparations for our school to become a world-class university with energy resources characteristics.
