It is a rigorous process to become a certified Alberta teacher and because of that we have some of the best educators in the world. To qualify to become an Alberta certified teacher you must have:
Completed a Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized University
Completed 2 full years of successful teaching while holding a valid Alberta Interim Professional Certification
Have two evaluations based on the knowledge, skills and attributes for permanent certification outlined in the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard.
This lengthy process ensures that our teachers are able to deliver the Alberta curriculum in a meaningful and engaging manner to our students.

STEAM 创客教育
CIS has invested in the state-of-the-art technology for our students to work and explore with. All students from Pre-K to Grade 12 will work within the IDEA Lab, building on design thinking and constructivism embedded within their daily curriculum. Our goal is to help students become confident learners and develop the skills that will help them become successful in our ever-changing world.

By creating and appreciating art, we better understand ourselves and the world around us. The CIS art program is continuously expanding. With our two huge art suites, the students are enriched by various art media and self-exploration.

Athletics 体育项目
We are the Grizzlies! Named after the fierce Grizzly Bears of Canada, we are proud to have such a strong mascot.
With over 20 different teams, there are many opportunities for students in Grades 4-12 to be involved in a competitive team. Representing CIS on a Grizzly sports team is about a lot more than just winning. It is about learning how to work as a team, learning how to persevere and learning how to be ambassador for our school, Guangzhou, and China.

CIS
Music Program 音乐项目
CIS has a rich history of offering music classes and music options from Pre-school to Grade 12. In Alberta, music is a mandatory part of the curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade Six. During the school year our students have different opportunities to display their musical gifts, such as our Winter Festival, Chinese New Year Celebration and Spring Concert. This year we began the wind orchestra for Junior High and High School students. We look forward to build this program into a strong part of CIS.

Graduating from an Alberta accredited international school means receiving the Alberta High School Diploma that is internationally recognized, which will open doors to further their education and to pursue all their career aspirations. Admission Requirements 入读要求
CIS welcomes all international families (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to apply for admission. Students will be interviewed and assessed to ensure that we are able to provide appropriate educational program support. Upon acceptance, you will receive an official letter. A 2,000RMB application fee is required by all new families.
CIS欢迎所有国际学生（含港澳台地区）报名申请。学生将接受面试和评估，以确保我们能够提供最合适的教育方案。学生被录取后，将收到一封正式录取信。新生申请需缴纳2000元人民币的申请费。
