About ICC Dispute Resolution Service (DRS)
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) offers a wide array of dispute resolution services specifically intended for international commerce and cross-border transactions. Our flagship service is ICC arbitration, which carries the hallmark of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC Court): a world leader in resolving international commercial disputes. Since its creation in 1923, the Court has administered more than 21,000 cases from across the world. Our International Centre for ADR (ICC Centre) provides complementary services, including mediation and other forms of amicable dispute settlement, expert appraisal (including a service specifically for trade finance disputes) and dispute boards. ICC Dispute Resolution Services offers students who wish to complement their studies and their experience in arbitration to learn further in an international environment.
About ICC Shanghai Representative Office
ICC Shanghai Rep. Office was established in 2016, which is responsible for contacting national committees and their members in 19 countries and regions in North Asia.
Key functions of the office include:
(1) Undertaking tasks of ICC Dispute Resolution Service, as well as relevant meetings and training;
(2) Undertaking the function of ICC Belt and Road Initiative Commission Secretariat;
(3) Liaising with ICC national or regional commissions in the region and assisting them in promoting trade facilitation, including government relations and public relations;
(4) Assisting national committees in contacting other ICC departments. ICC Shanghai Rep. Office was established in 2016, which is responsible for contacting national committees and their members in 19 countries and regions in North Asia.
Tasks include
Translating documents in English and Chinese. Conducting legal research for the preparation of work documents, conferences, presentations and publications on various topics in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Assisting with the operation of ICC website and ICC Wechat account. Assisting with logistical preparations related to ICC events. Market research and data analysis. Each intern will be assigned several academic/practical topics to research on and is required to report their results in monthly office meeting. Carrying out any other related duties required to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
Qualifications
A background in international law is required.
Ability to use English as a working language, being skilled in translating and writing is required.
Demonstrated attention to details, good management of priorities and ability to work under high pressure.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Advanced computer skills including Word & Excel & PPT are required. Being skilled in video editing, artistic design and IT is an advantage.
Important information
Internships are strictly full-time (Monday to Friday, during normal business hours) Due to COVID-19, interns are allowed to work remotely. Interns will be required to go to office if necessary. Internships are unremunerated and interns are responsible for arranging their travel and/or accommodation. ICC is not in a position to provide scholarships/fellowships. Business trip may be required if necessary.
