一时画廊｜孙海霆：空房间 & 进化，将亮相影像上海艺博会
一时画廊荣幸地宣布，我们将亮相于11月3日至11月6日在上海展览中心举办的第七届影像上海艺术博览会（Photofairs Shanghai），这是亚太地区首屈一指的发现和收藏影像艺术作品的博览会。
我们将参与全新设立的「SOLO」单元，展出孙海霆的两个摄影作品系列：“空房间”系列与全新展开、首次亮相的“进化”系列，而“空房间”中亦有2021年的新作。
Once Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the seventh edition of Photofairs Shanghai, held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from November 3rd to 6th. We will participate in the newly established SOLO section and will feature two series of photographs by Sun Haiting - the "Empty Rooms" series and the "Evolution" series.
今年初夏，十余件“空房间”作品在一幢新式里弄洋房中的“一时——王坚、孙海霆双个展”中首次亮相，受到了各界的肯定；这也是近年来，孙海霆的作品在受到较多媒体报道、参与了数个机构群展后，首次正式与画廊合作。因而，一时画廊热切地希望将他的作品介绍给更广泛的群体，恰逢影像上海团队伸出了橄榄枝，故，在上海金秋11月的影像上海，我们携孙海霆作品亮相。
This summer, Sun Haiting's "Empty Rooms" works debuted in Every Moment Counts - A Two-Person Exhibition by Sun Haiting and Wang Jian in a century-old lane house in Shanghai, hosted by Once Gallery. The works were well received by public and collectors. Therefore, Once Gallery hopes very much to share his works with a greater public, and the invite from PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai came just at an excellent time. So, we are here to meet old and new friends, at Booth B05 of the Fair and shall look forward to sharing Sun Haiting's excellent works with you.

“一时——王坚、孙海霆双个展”中的部分孙海霆作品，一时画廊，上海，2021
作为建筑师的孙海霆长期关注承载当代生活的物理空间环境，并通过“北京大板楼”、“城中村建筑立面”等一系列类型学影像作品展现建筑与城市空间与日常生活的彼此塑造与影响。
As as architect, Sun Haiting has long been concerned about the physical space and environment that carries contemporary life, and revealing the interplay between architectures, urban space and daily life through a series of typological photograhy works such as “Beijing Dabanlou” and “Facades of Urban Villages”.
“北京大板楼”系列 / "Beijing Dabanlou" Series，2019-2020
“空房间”（2010-今）的拍摄对象是一系列位于历史建筑内部处于空置状态的普通房间，拍摄时间点选在了这个房间被使用了几十年后，即将迎接下一次改造前的那个新旧交替的时刻。孙海霆着迷于无人的房间中，寻找曾经的使用者留下的蛛丝马迹，这些痕迹作为一种线索和证据，揭示出空间中曾出现的人与事件。
The subjects of “Empty Rooms” (2010-present) are a series of vacant ordinary rooms located in historical buildings. Images were taken during the transitional moment after these room having been used for decades, and just before the next renovation takes place. This very moment is trasient. Sun Haiting is fascinated by the deserted rooms, looking for traces left by former users that, as clues and evidence, brought out the people and events once populated the space.

此次，除了以往数件广受好评的“空房间”作品外，我们亦带来了孙海霆2021年完成的4件“空房间”新作 —— 它们既写实，又如误入了某个尘封梦境中，光线、低饱和度的色彩、帘子的质感、莫名错落堆积的木箱、不同阶梯绿色的墙围透出的温润感……
At PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai, in addition to a few previously acclaimed works from “Empty Rooms” series, we will also bring four brand new "Empty Roms" works Sun Haiting recently completed – they are both realistic and seem as if strayed into a dusty dream. The light, the saturation, the curtains and their texture, the inexplicably piled wooden boxes, the jade-like and steaming gentleness that the walls in different shades of green exude…...

“进化”（2020-今）是孙海霆开启的全新系列创作，它们探讨一个古老而不断在革新中的议题：人类如何借助技术修复、改造、强化或是替代自己的身体。孙海霆的影像却并非直接呈现人体自身，而是聚焦于对身体进行干预和修改的场所与设备，展现一种技术施加于人类肉身带来的非自然选择的迅速进化过程。这些进程出现在医院、实验室、康复中心、外骨骼与义体的生产研发等环节。
“Evolution” (2020-present) is a brand new series of works. It explores an ancient yet constantly renewed issue: how human can repair, transform, strengthen or find replacement for their bodies with the help of technology. Sun’s images do not directly present the human body, but instead focus on places and equipments that are employed to intervene and modify the body, showing a rapid evolutionary process brought about not by natural selection but technology applied to the human body. These processes appear in hospitals, laboratories, rehabilitation centers, the manufacturing and development steps of exoskeleton and prosthesis.
此次展出的两件作品拍摄于手术室，抽象而纯净的蓝绿色空间中，庞大、复杂而精密的设备将对我们古老而柔软的身体进行修复。
The two works exhibited this time were shot in operating rooms - an abstract and pure blue-green space, where these huge, complex and sophisticated equipments will restore our ancient and tender body.
“进化”系列 / "Evolution" Series, 2020
“进化”与“空房间”真正关注的皆是作品中不在场的“人”。冷静客观、充满细节的图像藏匿了作为主体的人，将想象的空间交还给观者。
The "Evolution" and "Empty Rooms" series are essentially focused on the "people" who are absent from the scenes. The calm, objective, detailed images hide the person as the subject and return the imaginary space to the viewer.
孙海霆在近期受访时谈到：“最终还是时间、情感和记忆在浸润着你，支撑着你，无论面对没有人的房间、古代的遗址或是面向未来的技术，我想讲的还是关于人的故事。”
As Sun Haiting has said in a recent interview, "In the end, it is time, emotion and memory that soak into you and support you. Facing no matter empty rooms, an ancient site or a futuristic technology, what I want to tell is all stories about people.”

简介
1984年生于陕西西安，东南大学建筑学硕士，现居北京。作为建筑师，孙海霆专注于建筑设计与文化遗产保护的相关工作。
自2009年起，他运用类型学的创作手法来拍摄一系列具有相似结构的对象，如“城中村”“空房间”及“北京大板楼”等系列。其摄影作品以尽可能简练的客观视角拍摄足够多的一个对象后，再静观其中的关联自然浮现出来。
其作品近年广泛参展于在机构群展中，并于2021年5-6月首次在上海的“一时——孙海霆、王坚”双个展中呈现。孙海霆的影像作品被“一条”、《卷宗Wallpaper*》、“一席”、《DEMO》杂志、“半径”、《第一财经》等报道，并在UCCA北京、OCAT上海馆进行讲座分享。
Born in 1984 in Xi’an, Sun Haiting is an architect, photographer, artist currently based in Beijing. As an architect, Sun Haiting focuses his work on architectural design and cultural heritage preservation.
Since 2009, he has been referring to the methodology of typology to photograph a series of objects with similar structures, such as the "Urban Village", "Empty Rooms" and "Beijing Dabanlou" series. After shooting a subject enough times from an objective perspective as succinct as possible, he will wait and see the connection within the works to naturally emerge.
His works have been widely exhibited in institutional group exhibitions in recent years, and for the first time in Shanghai from May to June 2021 in Every Moment Counts- A Two-Person Exhibition by Sun Haiting Sun and Wang Jian, hosted by Once Gallery. Sun Haiting’s photography works were reported by Yi Tiao, Wallpaper China, Yi Xi, DEMO magazine, Radius, China Business News, etc., and he has participated in panel talks and lectures at the UCCA, Beijing and OCAT, Shanghai.
