杰弗里.萨克斯教授（Jeffrey D. Sachs）是哥伦比亚大学的大学教授兼可持续发展中心主任，2002年至2016 年任哥伦比亚大学地球研究所主任。萨克斯教授是联合国可持续发展解决方案网络主席、能源转型工程师理事会联合主席、联合国宽带发展委员会专员、梵蒂冈宗座社会科学院院士、双威大学丹斯里杰弗里-谢赫荣誉特聘教授；曾担任三任联合国秘书长的特别顾问，目前是秘书长安东尼奥-古特雷斯的可持续发展目标倡导者。他在哈佛大学担任教授长达二十多年，并在哈佛大学获得学士、硕士和博士学位。萨克斯教授已获得 42 个荣誉博士学位，最近获得的奖项包括 2022 年唐氏可持续发展奖、法兰西共和国总统颁发的荣誉军团勋章以及爱沙尼亚总统颁发的十字勋章。他最近的著作有《全球化简史：地理.技术.制度》(The Ages of Globalization: Geography, Technology)（2020 年）和《可持续发展行动伦理》(Ethics in Action for Sustainable Development)（2022 年）。
Jeffrey D. Sachs is University Professor and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, where he directed the Earth Institute from 2002 until 2016. He is President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Co-Chair of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition, Commissioner of the UN Broadband Commission for Development, academician of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican, and Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Honorary Distinguished Professor at Sunway University. He has been Special Advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General, and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary General António Guterres. He spent over twenty years as a professor at Harvard University, where he received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. Sachs has received 42honorary doctorates, and his recent awards include the 2022 Tang Prize in Sustainable Development, the Legion of Honor by decree of the President of the Republic of France, and the Order of the Cross from the President of Estonia. His most recent books are The Ages of Globalization: Geography, Technology, and Institutions (2020) and Ethics in Action for Sustainable Development (2022).
