UAE Green Visa Available for Investors & Skilled Workers

DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a 5-year Green Residence visa, which will increase the market’s flexibility for talent and qualified employees from around the world.
The UAE workers who are eligible to apply for the five-year green visa include company directors, executives, engineers, professionals, and technicians in the scientific, technical, and human domains.
As part of significant reforms to draw new talent to the UAE and encourage citizens to stay longer, green visas will be made accessible to individuals with bachelor’s degrees who make Dh15,000 ($4,084) or more a month.
The five-year UAE green visa is a residency permit that entitles the holder to a number of privileges for family members as well as the freedom to sponsor oneself for five years without the necessity for corporate sponsorship. In accordance with Decision No. 65 for 2022, the UAE Cabinet approved the green visa.
Who is eligible for a green visa?
There are three groups of people who are eligible to apply for a green visa, according to UAE authorities. Those who invest in or collaborate with a commercial licence, as well as independent contractors and highly qualified personnel.
A bachelor's degree or specialized certification and a freelance permission from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) are requirements for self-employed people and freelancers.
They must also be able to demonstrate that they have had annual income in the last two years of at least Dhs360,000 or that they have demonstrated financial stability by remaining in the UAE.
According to the International Standard Classification of Occupations, there are nine different skill levels of positions within the MoHRE.
The candidate should be categorised in the first, second, or third level if applying under the category of skilled workers. The employee must hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following skilled fields: science, law, education, culture, or the social sciences, and have a valid work contract with a salary of Dh15,000 in the UAE.
A valid employment contract, categorization in the first, second, or third occupational level according to MoHRE, a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, and a minimum wage of AED 15,000 are requirements for skilled workers.
It Is necessary for investors or partners to obtain the approval of the investment, proof of investment, and the appropriate municipal authorities.
How much does a UAE green visa cost?
The cost of a visa application is AED335.75, according to Arabian Business. An additional fee of AED 650 will be charged for status changes within the nation. Costs for an Emirates ID and a medical exam are extra.
