The National Immigration Administration (NIA) has announced several exit-entry management policies and measures aimed to facilitate the cross-border movement of people and promote further opening up of services to people in and out of China.
1. Fully Resume "National Pass" for Mainland Residents Group Tours to HK and Macao
NIA will fully resume mainland residents' application for "National Pass" to participate in group travels to Hong Kong and Macao.
Mainland residents can submit an application for endorsement of group travel to Hong Kong and Macao to the exit and entry administration of any public security organ in the country.
2. Process "National Pass" for Mainland Residents for Visiting, Work, and Study in HK and Macao
NIA will handle applications for the "National Pass" by mainland residents who want to go to Hong Kong and Macao to visit families, work, and study.
Mainland residents who plan to travel to Hong Kong and Macao due to family visits, work, study, medical treatment, litigation, and other reasons can submit applications for the relevant endorsement to any exit and entry administration agency of the national public security organ.
3. Adjust the Validity Period of Stay Endorsements for Mainland Students in Macau
The entry and exit management agency of the public security organs shall issue a stay visa for mainland students studying in higher education institutions in Macau, with a validity period of no more than 1 year. The validity period will be adjusted to be consistent with their study period in Macau.
4. Fully Restore Entry-Exit Measures to Prepandemic Levels
Travelers can enjoy quick customs clearance at ports, including Chinese residents holding Chinese passports, the permit for travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions (SARs), the permit for travel to and from the mainland for residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Foreigners can use their passports and permanent residence permits, or electronic passports and residence permit valid for at least six months to go through the express channel at the border inspection
Chinese and foreign crew members working on scheduled international flights can go through the express channel of border inspection.
