[Photo by Zou Hong/China Daily]China will keep improving its visa regulations to make it easier for people to travel across borders since the nation has experienced a continuous rise in inbound arrivals.Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry, stated during a daily briefing on Friday that Beijing has taken a number of steps to promote communication with the outside world. These steps have been well accepted and have resulted in a quick increase in visa issuance by China's diplomatic missions.Since the beginning of the year, the ministry has worked to reform visa regulations, Wang said. It has also collaborated with relevant ministries to put in place a variety of facilitation measures and requested its diplomatic missions to ensure that foreigners can enter China without difficulty. The most recent change came into effect on Wednesday when travellers entering the country were no longer needed to submit to COVID-19 nucleic acid or antigen tests prior to entrance. The issuing of port visas, multiple-entry visas, and the visa-free transit policy have all been resumed by Chinese authorities and diplomatic missions as a result of China's decision to reduce the management of COVID-19 from Class A to Class B, according to Wang.Visa exemptions for certain regions, the issuance of tourist visas, and the usage of multiple-entry visas issued before to the epidemic all completely resumed on March 15, the official added. In an effort to promote business travel in the Asia-Pacific region, China has opened its borders to holders of virtual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation business travel cards as of May 1.Late in July, China reinstated its 15-day visa-free entry rule for Singaporean and Bruneian nationals with regular passports travelling to China for transit, business, or vacation.According to Wang, since the middle of August, the nation has given eligible visa applicants for business, tourism, and other purposes temporary exemptions from fingerprinting.Additionally, China negotiated reciprocal visa waiver agreements with nations including Kazakhstan and Madagascar this year, bringing the total number of such accords to 155, the official said.
