Meanwhile, an international flight carrying 19 cross-border online gambling suspects landed at Wuhan Tianhe Airport on December 4.The Hubei police uncovered the cross-border online gambling group operating from overseas on multiple platforms. They used such platforms to incite domestic users to engage in gambling online.Under a series of measures such as continuous crackdowns on such platforms, policy pressure, and overseas joint law enforcement deterrence by the police, several key leaders and technical personnel of the group finally gave up and agreed to return to China to surrender.
It was not an easy operation, according to the police, as it involved complex cross-border tasks such as cooperating with the local police on information sharing, joint crackdowns, personnel repatriation, etc.
The police said they will keep in place an offensive against cross-border gambling crimes, and closely monitor the financial leaders of criminal groups.
