Zhang Lin, the Chinese dancer from the Hamburg Ballet in Germany who had been missing for five days, has been found safe and sound, the Chinese Consulate General in Hamburg, Germany said on Wednesday evening local time.The consulate general has not provided any additional information regarding the circumstances of her disappearance.The disappearance of the Chinese ballet dancer in Hamburg has sparked widespread concerns on social media earlier this week. On Tuesday evening, the étoile of the Hamburg Ballet posted a missing person notice on Zhang's social media account, saying that the 21-year-old Chinese dancer had gone missing after a rehearsal on January 5.Zhang's mother said that her daughter "seemed to have been abducted, she was then found in a nearby town in Hamburg, and there are indications that she may have experienced psychological distress," according to Hongxing News, a Chinese news outlet founded by Chengdu Economic Daily.Notices about Zhang's disappearance were posted throughout the streets of Hamburg's Hamm district, where the Hamburg Ballet is located, the report said. The notices indicated that Zhang was last seen in the Hamm area at around 2:00 pm on January 5. Consulate staff in Hamburg told Hongxing News that the consulate has been assisting Zhang's family in obtaining a visa, and that the necessary documentation has been sent to the German Embassy in China."Mou Tu RC," a dance blogger on Sina Weibo who was identified as "Teacher Rabbit" and used to be a teacher of Zhang during her training days in Beijing, told The Paper that Zhang was "doing well in Hamburg before her disappearance.""She officially joined the Hamburg Ballet in January of the previous year and had been enjoying a stable career under a valid work visa. Before going missing, she had recently performed a new role," said Zhang's former teacher.Zhang was born in 2002 in Central China's Henan Province, Nandu News previously reported. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Hamburg Ballet and played various roles, including the Chinese Bird in The Nutcracker and young Jane Eyre in the ballet Jane Eyre.
